Tried a punch for the first time tonight. Had previously been almost exclusively a V cut guy. I like this. A lot.

V-cut most of the time...
Guillotine some of the time...
Punch? - eh, never liked it............tar, and too many issues with ruined caps..........maybe I'll revisit

I tried it for a while, eventually went back to guillotine. Mostly smoke corona size, so it doesn't really work for em.

Tried to punch a rob a week ago or so and damaged the cap enough that I had to cut anyhow.

Lost my V cutter.

I generally do V cut for torpedos, scissors for everything else, and when I am out hitting the strip I'll do a punch. If your ruining your cap, you're applying too much pressure. All you need to do is cut the surface of the wrapper not dig into the cigar. You only need to cut into the cigar about half a millimeter.

I prefer scissors over guillotine. It seems like you can be a lot more precise in taking just the edge of the cap and the leverage from the scissors make for easier cutting.

The key is to have a sharp punch, so I stay away from Colibri (I've had better luck with cheapie ones}.

Punch cut is the way to go on big rg cigars and mixed/short filler.

Like a single or double punch cut on larger ring cigars over 54rg. For me a punch will restrict the draw and help concentrate the flavors, almost like a thin guillotine cut on a belicoso or torpedo.
Not a fan of the v-cut.

I found that if you wet the cap before you punch it it does better. I pretty much used a Guillotine butter for just about everything. YMMV

Used to use a punch all the time until I got a quality double guillotine... Now that's all I use... Only used the v-cut a couple of times, but wasn't a fan...

vcut is a great option, use a guillotine often. Best punch I have used is a .223 casing. works well on 50 gauge and larger.

Punch cut if cigar gives lots of smoke only, otherwise cut the entire cap. Not a fan of the V

Punch is emergency backup kept on keychain. Great if the gar has a decent draw by nature. V is nice if you dont want to nip too much off a torp. Straight is standby.

I honestly don't remember the last time I used a straight cut.
