One would think that good parents would keep an eye on their kids while at the zoo.

I'm sure they will sue the zoo and win.

Wonder if this would have happened if you could still crack your kid on the ass in public without fear of childrens services?

Did I miss details about the parents being negligent?

Because it sounds like some here are making that claim.

Anyone who thinks that an active toddler can't escape your vision for 30 seconds is just fooling themselves.

The zoo made the right choice and they did it fast.

Thank God we're talking about a dead gorilla rather than a dead kid.

This was a tragic accident with a terrible consequence.

I know nothing of the kid or parents, but if the lil kid is determined enough to get into a gorilla exhibit the kid's probably sly enough to break away from parents pretty quickly.

Wife and I raise two that are now in their mid thirties. They never came close to climbing into a gorilla pit.

And yes, much better a dead gorilla than child.

One witness I saw on the news said the boy told his mom he was going in. She told that he wasn't. He said he was. And she turned her attention to another child and he went in.

Since the incident there have been over 100k signatures on a related petition.

Over here in the cigar world, we can't even get 20k signatures to save the jobs of countless people and keep our culture alive.

I read the gorilla signed before he died, "Why shoot me, I was doing a better job of parenting than the kids Parents."
