Interestingly, Kelly agrees with the congresswoman. Here's what Kelly states he told trump to say:

"He was doing exactly what he wanted to do when he was killed. He knew what he was getting into by joining that 1%. He knew what the possibilities were because we were at war,. And when he died he was surrounded by the best men on this earth, his friends."

So... whether trump got that entire sentence out, I don't know. But Kelly states he told him to include the phrase: "He knew what he was getting into.."
Kelly specifically has not denied that he said this.

Trump probably flubbed it. I doubt it's easy to offer such condolences. He shouldn't have insisted that he do it himself.
But congresswoman Frederica Wilson has a track record of acting just like you, Victor. She exhibits irrational behavior towards Trump and it eclipses anything intelligent she may have done.

I don't care if he said it, or he didn't. It's irrelevant. The man is dead. This entire conversation belittles what he did for his country. He gave his life. May he rest in peace.

.... why would you take the mother's agency away from her? She can only be offended because the congresswoman told her to be? That's a really assholish opinion to have of her.

And none of this would have been going on if the cheeto in chief hadn't claimed to have done more for the families than other presidents. It's a repeating pattern. Trump claims something ridiculously stupid and daily proven wrong , the media looks into it and proves him wrong, then he lies about it and calls them fake news. The whole thing may have been on a script.

I have CNN, Fox, and Reuters on my news feed, CNN finds something new to blast trump on every day. As soon as something sticks, they just beat the sh1t out of it and then we argue about it on here rinse and repeat.

News flash folks, trump says the best stupid chit of all time, let me tell you, some of the gems he says will go down in history as the absolute best stupid sh1t ever.

Anyway, CNN is there to bash all of it, masking his true gems from ever seeing the casual Trumpette blowers (see what I did there)?

In this case though, it's all around stupid... distracts from the really really stupid sh1t going on on both sides, which is truly disappointing, there's good people on both sides that should be ashamed of themselves.

Thanks MACS, made it easy for me to see what all the hub bub was about this (was too busy / lazy to look it up earlier).

Ya, that congress woman was out of line, but I also agree with trumps track record with words, he probably shouldn't be making those calls.

That congress woman though is a piece of sh1t, she had no business eavesdropping on that call, let alone criticizing him for making it.

Props to him for giving it effort, it takes a lot of balls to make that call.

The whole thing should never have been politicized. I sort of have a guess how the whole thing came about... here's my guess (this is speculation)

Reporter asks trump about Niger deaths (because it had been 2 weeks with no statement from the president regarding an attack on troops)
Trump mistakenly thinks he's asking about what he will do about the families themselves (the reporter literally only asked why he hasn't said anything), and like a kid who didn't have his homework ready to turn in started going off on a tangent about contacting families, and how he was going to make phone calls and other presidents didn't do that....

Suddenly, that's a news story. Trump calls the families? Did Obama call the families? Did Bush? Suddenly every news reporter is checking on that. And now he's expected to call every family. The reporters and everyone else knows he has to make a phone call to every family.

Meanwhile, his staff is probably sh#tting itself..... Notice what was said. Gen Kelly told Trump what to say based on what was said to him when his son was killed. That means someone was asking what trump should say... they weren't planning this, they were like "quick! What should he say? What did they say when they called you?".... this doesn't suggest a lot of planning.

Sounds like during the phone call he tried to say verbatim what was said to kelly. Whether he successfully said the entire statement or just got distracted after that first phrase and started rambling on a different direction (not uncommon for trump) we will never know unless someone recorded it.

But make no mistake. This whole politicized bs around the soldiers deaths started when trump decided to go off script on what should have been an anticipated question.

Sun Columnist Tom McLaughlin said she told an Egyptian diplomat the Benghazi attack was planned and not a protest but that she told family members of the deceased that the attack was the result of a demonstration. He said she then told George Stephanopoulos that she didn't tell the families the attack was a demonstration about a film. "Somebody is lying," said McLaughlin."Who is it? Clinton replied, "Not me, that's all I can tell you." At the time, Clinton said, everyone was emotionally distraught. She said some families didn't know their sons were working for the CIA or were in Benghazi. Clinton said the information she had about the attack was from the intelligence community.

Hillary Clinton, a confirmed liar who's deeply distrusted by voters, claims that all four of these grieving relatives aren't telling the truth about what she said to them on September 14 -- back when the White House was still peddling the video myth in public. Indeed, Hillary included a heated reference to the film in her speech at the casket ceremony that day, in the context of discussing the broader upheaval across the region. Somebody is lying. Hillary asserts that it isn't her, leaving only one, highly implausible option. She tries to soften her clear implication that Tyrone Woods' father, Sam Smith's mother and uncle, and Glen Doherty's sister are liars by suggesting that perhaps they were just too "emotionally distraught" to summon accurate recollections. This is insulting. Of course they were very upset, but the idea that they all misunderstood her in the same exact way -- and that one of them took inaccurate contemporaneous notes about the interaction -- is ludicrous. The little nugget that some of them didn't know that their murdered relatives had been working on behalf of the CIA is pure, cynical misdirection; that information was classified at the time, and had zero bearing on whether they may have been confused about what she told them face-to-face at a private meeting. Lastly, Clinton's line that all of her information at the time came from the intelligence community is also flat-out wrong. The former acting director of the CIA has testified under oath that the US intelligence community never tied the Benghazi attacks to the Internet video. And former CIA director David Petraeus has stated that the US government ascertained that the Benghazi massacre was a coordinated act of terrorism "almost immediately." State Department documents and Hillary's own virtual paper trail affirm this. The Secretary of State understood the truth, with clarity. She shared it with her own daughter and with foreign diplomats, while serving up a fiction to the American people, including heartbroken family members of the deceased.

Anyone notice people can't decide whether I'm am "ultra liberal" azzhole (which is hilarious by the way for anyone whose actually paid attention to what actual fiscal policies I support) or an azzhole who beats homeless people?

I'm gonna guess most ultra liberals don't beat homeless people? (Or SF would be a much nicer place).

But I suppose consistency is too much to ask for.
