I try my best to keep my thoughts to myself on things of this nature but since it seems to be in my face every damn place I turn, I get very angry, upset, sad, heart broke... The list goes on and on. I have had to stand beside women as tears roll down their face as their husband is wheeled off a plane with a flag draped over his coffin. Each time I see, hear or read about this kind of stuff these are the images that go through my mind. Most of my true friends are ex military, I know what they have went through and also know psychologically how it has changed them in such a way that its messed them up for the rest of their lives.
Now on the opposite I understand about wanting to be heard on the social injustices that have and are being done to a people. I understand wanting to take a stand for a just cause and stand and fight for those who was done wrong. Especially those that have lost their lives wrongly and the families that was left behind. When those kinds of things happen it also makes me just as angry, sad and heart broke.
Here is what I do not get, If lets say this was an anti Trump thing. That means the mentality is in order to show trump I am going to piss on the flag and our Anthem and those that have died for it because ( SOME a small number by comparison to how many serve ) officers have done a great injustice (while MANY WHITES are also killed wrongfully on an annual basis ) by LEO's ONLY the Black lives lost apparently are important and really matter. ( @ least that's what were all left to think ) I am going to piss on that woman's beliefs while she stands proud of her husbands sacrifice that is crying while her husband he is wheeled of a plane in a pine box because the President said something I disagree with? The officers that have done wrong and the president that you think have done wrong is not the ones who have died for that flag. They have not come home mentally broken.
One of my things back in the day, I would go to churches of different denominations. I like to see and learn of multiple religions to come to my own conclusions. While at one church during service a mixed race couple came in to attend. They had never been to this church but like me was looking for a place to worship. So because of the fact of them being a mixed race couple they was asked to leave. My Jaw hit the floor, In my personal beliefs I do not give a crap about race creed ect. All should be welcome in the house of god. My thought is we are all created in gods image and to turn away a couple in a church because some people of that region think mixed race is wrong and yet you are there to teach and worship. It made me sick literally. I could only imagine how it made the couple feel. To also know that because I am there most would think I am associated with that group of people or that church. That really made me very sick to know that if that couple should recognize me they would think that I feel the same way because that is human nature.
So here is my thinking, if I should have the same mentality of those that kneel, since some of the people of that church was very much in the wrong in my opinion, In my mind a great injustice was done to those people that was asked to leave. Should I pick up a Bible and piss on it, show disrespect to god and all people of that religion to make a point? Not all of the people of that religion feel or think that way, Not all of churches of that denomination feel or think that way. This is the mentality I feel that those that kneel have. I also think that the more coverage, the more people pay it attention, the more people argue about it, The more that people hop on one side or the other, the more its going to happen.
To many people also view this as a race thing on both sides in allot of ways. In my honest opinion this is why racism will never go away. Racism will keep growing like a cancer and could very well be the death of us all. Especially if both sides keep feeding it. This is toxic on so many levels that it sickens me.
In closing I will say this, My thinking could be wrong for most, for me its not but that still does not make my thinking right as a whole. All I can say is it is right for me, that is how I strongly feel and I do not expect or demand any one to think and feel as I do. If any one disagrees I do not see them as ignorant or stupid or even feel that they are but that does not mean that I need to go out and disrespect the majority of this nation, just because our president, or police officers have done something or said something I think is wrong or that I disagree with. I feel that is exactly what they are doing no matter how one sugar coats it.
In the words of my buddy Forest Gump. That is all I am going to say about that!
