i'm a long time customer and quite possibly have the largest dollar volume of anyone on CB who is buying cigars ONLY for personal consumption. my running CB Total is about $34,000 (not a misprint).... and it's on the verge of going to $0.

i'm getting sick of the CB squeezing for more cash and changing the rules at MY/OUR expense. i'm still very unhappy with the shipping changed from Standard UPS to UPS Sure Post. My shipments formerly arrived in about two days... now i pay UPS an extra fee for standard shipping and it still takes four days. NEWS FLASH TO CIGAR BID... I'M THE ONE PAYING FOR SHIPPING, NOT YOU.

Secondly... i hate (as in HATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) the Free Fall scam... yeah, i said it... scam. CB is an AUCTION site... not a video game where we try to beat the clock by clicking on a price. Read your own promotion tag... "America's #1 Online Cigar AUCTION" site. i'm not here to play a Carnival game run by carnies... and Free Fall is in the exact same category. Say it with me... We are an AUCTION site.

Finally... the most recent scam is the Bid to Win changes that i've noticed. i just bid on a lot that had 6 units. All six units distributed to five different people (obviously one person had bid on and was winning 2 units). ONLY ONE of the units was at $11.00 and the Bid to Win was $11.50 (the other 5 units were at $9.50 to $10.50). The Bid to Win IS NOT $11.50... IT'S STILL $11 and isn't increased until ALL units have reached $11... right?? when did this little morsel get changed??

First......you spend $166/mo on cigars here.
That doesn't make you a major player here, so La Princessa will not be impressed...........just sayin.

Second......shipping prices and policies have been fubar here for years, and the other place has always been better....so...nothing new there.

Free Fall........it is what it is, and always has been..........BUT.....since the introduction of the new web site, there are now typically 600 or more items on FF, compared to MAYBE 100 in da olden days. That said, there are a handful of decent items on FF, where the reset is LOWER than the typical winning bid price from the regular auction.

Remember, losing a bid is a sign of weakness.

lol, this guy thinks he's the only one that drops over $150 a month on cigars.

That's special.

Hell, Rah spends more than that sitting on the toilet.

Edit:

I'm one to talk, I just dropped $150 just now while yelling at my kid to go to bed.

Mainly because of lousy prices on AVERAGE cigars and a SERIOUS lack of selection. Oh, and YES, I do mastermind my auction attack on the can DAILY! 😁 😁 😁 😁 😁

The Freefall auctions are not a scam. They are, however, a bit of an annoying gimmick. They are also where some of the best deals have been on here since the big website change. No doubt, they get a lot of "cell-phone-clickers" to buy for more than they could, but its not that big of a deal for me to be at my office desk while having to sit through a long conference call, watching the FF's cycle through several times to see what the lowest price really will be.

Grabbed a bundle Don Pepin Blues that way on FF which went for $3 per before shipping last week. Those go for $11 at the B&M near here . I have been picking up a number of singles since then to add to the order. As someone said in the "best score" thread, there has been a lot of good deals on singles - assuming you are already placing an order so that its 25 cents shipping. Grabbed a number of A.J. selections for $1 per and some Olivas for $2 each as well as some I just always wanted to try out, with single auctions over the weekend. Even with adding a quarter to them for shipping, its a pretty good deal. It is strange though, some nights there is nobody bidding on singles, some nights the prices are ridiculous.

In all, I have bought enough so that I am going to get a nice package of good cigars that I know I enjoy, as well as a few I have just wanted to sample before buying a bundle, for well under $3 each even with the shipping. IF the OP would rather go to the local cigar store and pay $10 or so for each for those, he won't have a bidding or shipping problem.

Everyone here knows that for the higher-end cigars, there are now often better places to shop online and a few places that have periodic deals on good smokes (OMB III's anyone???) that beat what you can get them for here. But this is still a fine place to stock up on good cigars for much less than you would pay retail.

Thank you for your service.
