This is in IN where you still have the possibility of jail time for like an 1/8 of pot

For the rest, yeah... "for the kids" is BS. I could get my hands on anything imaginable, including many things not even named - "research chems" were just starting to be a thing when I was HS age. They were "legal" i.e. they weren't yet named as a controlled substance. I never tried myself, but they were available and that was almost 20 years ago before everyone had internet and could find this stuff or at least information about it.

but if it's legal to purchase, that'll make it much more accessible, like alcohol is readily available to and abused by that age group...

Interestingly enough, in the Swiss model addicts are never pushed to quit, only given every resource to do so - not if - but when they want to... And most of them do...

Plus nobody wants their pot in a Ziploc now... It's gotta come in a designer jar with testing info, thc %, strain name, all that stuff...

Dealers only route is selling to kids who aren't old enough to visit the shops, and the guys doing that aren't making a living on it... Maybe supporting their own pot habit but that's it...

Observation: What's more strange an idea, albeit a great idea, legalizing drugs, than a hesitation to legalize drugs because you want addicts to be employed.

Dispensaries only distribute an ounce per person per day... Not really enough quantity to make money on, and no price breaks for buying in bulk, but buying on the street is still more expensive...

I’m for legalization of everything in theory but have a hard time squaring this one with the current opioid crisis.

As for the prostitution angle WWBCD? What would Bob Craft do? Probably have to do his research elsewhere.

Build more and create more jobs, I'd rather pay higher tax rates for this purpose than for just about anything else. Life in prison can be a great deterrent, not sure what they ended up giving people caught selling ecstasy but I know it worked.
