Just got back from vacation around the White River in Arkansas.

If you haven’t been, you owe yourself a trip.

We caught so many rainbow trout, a few cut throat, and several good sized brownies.

This will be a trip I take again.

We've been there several times. A great fishery!

Caught a 24" brown on a crawfish pattern on my last float trip of the summer last week. Big Horn river, Thermopolis Wyoming!

flex seal... probably won't last forever, but a couple coats of the liquid on the inside of the feet would probably do it...

Fly fishing?

I don't totally dislike fly fishermen, but the last couple times I've been to the river I've had run-ins with them... the first was a group of three old timers that waded into the river across from me where I was floating bait... they talked about it for awhile and one of them finally decided to walk closer and closer and closer until eventually I couldn't cast without snagging him... I probably should've snagged him, but they were old and I wasn't having luck, so I packed up frustrated and went home...

went out again yesterday and had 2 different old timers show up at the spot I was fishing... the first got an unfriendly look from me and took off.... the second showed up and stood just down the bank from me with his rod in the casting-ready position and kept giving me sad puppy dog looks as if to beg for a scrap cast...

there are so many places to fish on this river and it's moving so fast that fishing close to one another never works out... I never did yield, he took off without casting, and eventually an older man and woman showed up and threw bait close enough to me to make lure fishing too difficult...

ya know what, maybe it's just old people I don't like...

Sounds like you don't like jackwagons. Being an Basshole is not age dependent, nor tackle related. In most folks it seems to be a gift. 🤦

You're probably right... I've had a ton of fun fishing with old timers... That wasn't fair of me...

Holding a fly fishing rod so often bestows an enormous amount of arrogance, self importance and superiority.

Don't fight the urge to dislike fly fishermen....it is quite reasonable....there are some exceptions, but they exist only to prove the rule
