Any of you 2A people out there might want to pop on here and vote. Forward to your pro-gun friends.

Thanks that was insightful. The "No,it's too dangerous" crowd is winning the poll by 7%.I'd like to see the poll broke down by state.Guarentee you less than 1% of those "NO" votes are from Texas......we all carry guns in public and feel quite safe doing so.

I love when people who have zero knowledge of self defense attempt to influence lawmakers with their lack of knowledge. If you want to sit around and wait on the police to save your azz that is your prerogative but I will cover my own azz thank you very much.

BTW I live in a 2nd Amendment Sanctuary County...…..the only two places I leave my weapon in the vehicle is at the bank(when I can't use the drive up window) and the post office...…...**** ing federal commie bastids.

I know we are talking about open carry but do you require a license for concealed in texas? When you mention a bank I know the law in Florida is you are allowed to conceal carry in a bank if you have a license to CC. It is an understandably very different thing to open carry in a bank.

Sure, repeal the 2nd amendment. Repeal all of the amendments.

Bring back cruel & unusual punishment & slavery, while abolishing women's right to vote.

Burn the whole thing down and start over? The whole goose and gander thing?

Funny how people want their rights chosen ala carte.

Yes a CC license is required by the state but not by my county. When traveling in Texas you may carry a weapon in the vehicle within arms reach provided that is concealed at all times.Open carry requires the same CC license. Our bank has some federal sign about no carry allowed.Same with the post office. The state requires a business to post specific signs if they want no concealed carry(30.06 PC Sign) or no open carry(30.07 PC Sign). It is quite common for businesses to post one and not the other.I try my best to avoid businesses that post either but especially the 30.06 sign.I learned long ago you're much better off being responsible for your own safety rather than relying on others.

Amazingly, according to libtards, all these guns being toted around no one has been shot here in some time...…...at least no one that didn't deserve it and our crime rate hovers around zero.

Well, I have mixed feelings about constitutional carry vs licensing and training for concealed carry. I tend to favor the constitution in which case any state that restricts the second amendment in any way is overstepping their 10th amendment powers. I do see a benefit to the training required for concealed carry. It also is a way to weed out the crazies the progressives are terrified of.

What I will never abide by is any further erosion of our second amendment. It has a purpose and (in before I get called crazy) we need the ability to overthrow an unconstitutional government now more than ever considering what ideas progressives have in mind for our future.

Why are there two options for "yes"

What other reason for carrying a sidearm would be supported except self defense?

Nobody's gonna say "yeah I support concealed carry, but only for robberies and stuff"

It's very easy to get into the weeds and get screwed over where there are good samaritan laws. I have been thinking about getting a concealed license for awhile since I am in Florida so that is my only option but I worry about things like refusing to get involved in a situation where deadly force is required. It's a damned if you do damned if you don't thing if someone other than you is the victim.

Dude, I carry, but I'm not the popo or Captain America.

Look at CCW as being a bystander at a car wreck with basic medical skills. If there is a ****storm that you do not feel your training is suitable to deal with, stand down. If it exceeds your training, there is no duty to intervene. Or in an accident you cannto be sued as long as you do not exceed what you've been trained to do.

Drag a victim out of a burning car and there are complications later? You're ok, it was a lifesaving move. (In most states) Do a tracheotomy you're not trained for and the guy dies? You're screwed.

You will never get jacked up for not getting involved, like you will for getting involved and hurting an innocent or making things worse. Some folks have had more training with firearms than others. Some not so much. The supreme court has ruled that even the police have no obligation to intervene or protect anyone. So there is no way a civilian is obligated to do so.

Again, to the level of competency of "your" training. Now, you have to deal with your own demons on your own. But again, it is what it is.

That's an ugly synopsis, but I hope I got my point across. Just because you carry you have no legal obligation to step in. None.

I honestly advise students to mind their own damn business. Protect them and theirs and let everyone else worry about themselves. Because you just never know.

So I've stayed off here for a while as I don't particularly enjoy arguing anymore.

Gunner, you seem spot on. Though I also think NO ONE has a right to tread on the constitution. Whistle's and 8's sentiments mirror mine here.

I now carry after the incident with my nephew and am certified in Illinois and Wisconsin, and whatever states they have reciprocity with. And yes I have taken appropriate courses and more.

So some Liberals even carry Ron. Thanks in part to people like you and Gunner, and Z.

100% agree. I carry and my first option will always be to get out of Dodge (along with friends and family that may be with me). If I'm cornered and it becomes one of us or the bad guy then I will exercise my option. I will shoot to stop the threat.
