Yup.

That's why all of "us" are scared. We can treat the other stuff. We can't treat this. And we're highly susceptible because it seems like the initial exposure viral load correlates with severity of symptoms in the otherwise healthy. And we're dealing with this without proper PPE. I'd walk into a room with the confidence and swagger of McGregor if I had the proper equipment. But we don't. We don't have goggles/face shields. We don't have respirators. We get a face mask that does fxckall to protect us.

This needs to be thought of as like a toxic corrosive gas cloud more than a virulent pathogen. We're all used to the flu, the cold, and other ailments major or minor. You recover and go back to your normal. This is different. You recover, but the damage remains. It's like inhaling a cloud of acid that burns your lungs.

Time to start shivving anyone who coughs.

400 Danm Amen brother. Hearing same out of my hospitals.

Take this seriously folks. We are not panicking or overreacting.

Several weeks ago I kept saying sometimes dead is better. The living ā€œhospital sickā€ will have a long haul and likely never fully recover.

At the time I was saying that I was seeing data suggesting 1-3% death rate. 20% (including the 1-3% death folks) hospital sick rate. Of the remaining 80% half would get pneumonia leaving some degree of scarring and permanent damage. The other half are the lucky ones that folks were acting like would be the norm.

So that’s 20% hospital sick, 40% pneumonia treated at home and 40% no symptoms or flu like.

That was a while ago and we may know more or it may have changed. Yet folks including the President continue to compare it to the flu.

Saw last night that... Ford, I think it was... is converting some of their production line(s) to crank out face shields, with the first 75,000 expected this week, and 100,000 per week after that.

Other similar efforts are underway too.

A slight bit of good news.

It is good news but we have constantly been lied to about such things. Remember 4 million tests about 3 weeks ago?

Expecting ventilators out of Detroit as well.

As for the lack of PPEs that’s been true and known for weeks at least.

The idiot gave several conferences in a row promising massive number of tests by the end of each week etc. every time it was known that wouldn’t happen. Part of the Barnum and Bailey treatment of this. He does remind me of Baghdad Bob.

The faulty tests were earlier and a tiny number. It had nothing to do with his lies.

In the next day or so we will have more deaths than from 911

seems like years ago during a time of crisis with numbers of people dying, but Trump declared a National Emergency on March 13, and invoked the Defense Production Act on March 18...

all to little efffect...

wonder why he hasn't set up a national FEMA Joint Ops Command Center; ordered states and local govts to set up command centers at their levels and coordinate their activities around their primary mission: to identify existing needed medical supplies, inventory the nation's stockpiles, order private companies to produce them and take charge of logistics in distribution to places of greatest needs...we can exhaust the stockpile while producing stuff to replenish...he has the authority given the national emergency preparedness guidelines codified into law, to do this

shoulda been done when he declared an emergency, at which time he said there was a shortage of this stuff...

is he not listening to his DHS and FEMA folks?

I guess his priority now is to hold daily press briefings to discuss his successful response to the emergency...

That's what I'm hoping for.

WWII type repurposing manufacturing facilities for needed equipment.

Problem is, domestic production is still heavily affected by the enemy.

I told my wife, I've been having a recurring dream for years that I accidentally enlisted with the Navy/Army. I go about my day and then comes time to go do my own thing and I'm told I can't. So then I say I need to see my family. Nope... So then I say I quit, and I'm told I can't...

This is my nightmare come true.

But I hope and pray that domestic manufacturing can be repurposed and we have enough healthy workers to step up to the plate and get us the things we need to fight the enemy and reduce casualties. If the healthcare workforce falls, you all are royally screwed.

Heard today less testing will be done because of a lack of Protective equipment and also swabs. No longer watching the daily press briefings - almost all of it is lies and bullship.

Did he mention the scud missile he’s developing that will blow up over major cities and spray everyone with malaria drugs killing the virus and lifting his name up next to Jesus?
