Yeah, didn't see this coming (roll eyes).

Wasn't it the experts that told us that all we had to do was to follow all their mandates and this would all blow over in a few weeks... months... until a vaccine is concocted? It was even said that it's behavior is so predictable it's almost vanilla.

Yet here we are, still under restrictive mandates and if anyone questions it, they are chastised (see the posts above and to follow).

We're told that the vaccine is nothing new. They've been working on it for years with SARS or whatever. All they needed to do was to tweak it a bit for COVID. If a new strain pops up, they can dial it in within a couple months.

The marching drumbeat now is that the vaccine is the fix so everything can be alright in the world. You'll be immune after a couple shots. If you don't believe that this is the prevailing sentiment with the general public then you need to get out of your bubble. If that wasn't/isn't the message that the "experts" were/are touting then where did the general public get this idea?

I know, it's too complicated for little minded lemmings to understand. Only experts do. The masses should just get in line with what the "experts" tell us without question. Even though the tune changes, the song remains the same.

You see things then and now very differently then I did and do. But it is what it is. I don't see anyone of import claiming everything is alright with the VAX and things can immediately go back to normal. I never saw it then either.

That was a political talking point before the election. (ie the pandemic would disappear after the election and it is a dem farce). News flash. We are NOT close to done. This is a global pandemic although it is worse in the US than many other places unfortunately.

Political quote today - "The darkest of the darkest days are ahead".... polar opposite of the past admins messaging.

I've never viewed this as political as most folks in here do. I'm just immersed in it every day all day trying to make it better.

I first started learning about it during about the second week in Feb 2020. My ophthalmologist and I discussed it for like 10 minutes around Feb 20, 2020; and he was already wearing a mask a good month before other people started to. He warned me. I think it was like the day the doctor in Wuhan who first figured it out had died. I don't know, that's all I remember about that then other than that that my ophthalmologist doc was proud that it was a Chinese ophthalmologist and not some other Chinese doc from some other medical specialty that figured it out...

Funny story.
The teacher's union up here pushed to get educators to the front of the line (after the 75+ geezers) for the vaccine. Claim they're "essential" workers.
Now, I don't disagree with that sentiment. But it seems to me that TRUE essential workers would have been back at work in September. But that very same union fought AGAINST it.

Anything can be made political.
My Blue State has proven this time and again.
