This is different. It's new, and many feel it's not even needed.
Get the virus? Big whoop. We now know how to treat those few who get truly sick, so unless you're in the high risk group you may feel the risk/reward isn't justified.
But now it's political.
It began when VP candidate Camilla Harris boldly proclaimed she wouldn't get a vaccine if issued under Trump. She was the first to state it so clearly.
And here we are. People trying to shame folks who are simply expressing their right to personal responsibility.
Governments issuing mandates on masks and even on vaccines for people employed by a federal government that is still largely "working" from home.
I'm vaccinated. I made my decision and feel good about it. If someone else isn't, so what? I'm protected.
As for the Delta Variant, my vaccine is good enough for that too, right? If not, why push to get everyone else vaccinated?
I think it only makes sense that the virus will continue to spread more quickly among those not vaccinated. But sick people become well again, and they build their antibodies so they're protected the way nature intended.
Protect you and your own. That's what a responsible person does.
Take your own precautions to feel safe.
Nobody is stopping people from wearing masks or socially distancing if they so choose. The hysteria is unfounded.
Think about the message: we all have to get vaccinated, but even vaccinated people aren't safe.
