Not any population here at all in Central Florida that I know of. A problem in South Florida where pet iguannas either escaped or were intentionally released (like lionfish) and have now taken over. No natural enemies. Not aggressive or poisonous. Vegetarian, I think. I have never heard of iguanas being a food source. You could probably succeed at hunting even the largest of them with a .22, but I don't know if they are protected, although I doubt it since they are non-native and considered a nuisance. Nothing to worry about.
