This was a Post that came from someone in our HR department!

PASS IT ON!!!

Subject: FW: Wear Red on Fridays It has come to my attention that quite a few Americans support our troops but as usual we are the silent majority. We are not organized to really reflect who we are.

There is a grass roots movement using the membership of the Special Operations Association and the Special Forces Association to recognize Americans who support our troops.

The idea is not to stand on street corners once or twice, not to carry stupid signs in a rally, not to carry our flag in parades.

Its much simpler than that. We need to inform the local VFW's and American Legion, our local press, local TV, and even up to the national levels as we start to get this going.

The idea of showing our solidarity and support for our troops is that starting Friday and continuing on each and every Friday, that we and every red blooded American who supports our young men and women, WEAR SOMETHING RED.

Word of mouth, press, TV, lets see if we can make the United States, on any given Friday, a sea of red much like a home football game at the University of Nebraska.

If everyone of our memberships share this with other acquaintances, fellow workers, country club friends, I guarantee you that it will not be long before the USA will be covered in Red.

Lets get the word out and lead by example, wear RED on Fridays.

Thanks for your time and consideration of my proposal. I intend to send this out to everyone on my e-mail list, hopefully, you will too.

I've not yet met one person who doesn't support our troops. Now the Bush administration and his policies is another issue. X

How about that Columbia University professor? Said he hoped we lost? Was wishing for 1,000 or a million Mogadesu's? (sp) You're certain there aren't libs out there so opposed to this action that they don't support our troops? Sounds a bit pollyannish.

X, there are many non supporters of our troops. Do you own a TV?

And also, what does this administrations policies have to do with support for the men & women risking their lives for Democracy, they dont set policy, they follow orders!

I will spread the word & wear something red on Fridays!

I'm sure there are people out there that don't support our troops,I just haven't met any. Futhermore I've met people that don't believe we should have risked our soldiers lives over this particular issue.
So far very little evidence supports that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction. Now they are saying that he destroyed all the WOMD before we invaded. Sounds like they're writing this as they go along. X

What are you trying to say Robby, that I don't support our troops? I'll wear any F-ing color I want. I don't need to wear red to show my support. I do it with my actions. Nuff said. X

Not at all? Why are you jumping to conclusions? I was just trying to help add a little color to your war-drobe... And thought yellow might suit you. Yeeish! Talk about your hair triggers. Have you tried St. John's Wort?

You know what X? I could give a flying #%$&*@# if they ever find weapons of mass destruction.

Now, are you saying its not worth our time to save millions of Iraqi's from being killed by Suddam?

X, I couldnt tell if your last comment was directed at Robby or me. I really dont care if you wear red or not,I will. To each his own.

I do care about you avoiding my question. Do the Iraqi people deserve to be liberated from Saddam, or is it ok with you, to let the killing of innocent civilians continue?

If your answer is no, then what other means of action for stopping Saddam would you suggest? And dont pull the resolution crap, that didnt work and never would have.

Mag,Of course the Iraqui people should be liberated but so should many other people in many other countries under similar type regimes. Are you saying we should sacrifice American blood throughout the world in the name of liberating them also? There are other ways other than an all out invasion of a said country to accomplish this. It has been speculated that if Iraq's major export was flowers,we never would have set foot there. X

Mag and Robby - You seem to be very reactionary as usual. Read X's posts, then read your responses, they have absolutely nothing to do with each other.

Robby started by jumping the gun and calling X a coward, unless you meant something else by the juvenile "yellow" jab. bad taste!

And then Mag playing on the plight of the Iraqi people, X very clearly pointed out that our original justification for this war was for WOMD and chemicals. Since we haven't found these yet, everyone shifts to the liberation aspect instead of acknowledging that our published reason for invasion hasn't panned out. Do you honestly think that the backlash from the other Arab countries would be as bad if we had found the weapons?? I would bet that they might be a little more thankful and respectful of the USA if we did find WOMD! But I'm probably being idealistic...

I thought we had proof, wasn’t that what Powell said?? If so then we should have found some shouldn’t we??

I’m not saying that liberating the Iraqi people is an ignoble thing; I think we have helped them more than we ever thought we could at the onset and I’m very proud with how it’s been handled. But that’s not the issue that was brought up.

X – You’re right, most of the other countries in that region have brutal dictators, I guess we’re going to be in the region liberating for a long time. But I don’t hear anyone crying for us to liberate those other countries. But Syria might be next!

Now back to the original intent of the thread, I support our troops and will try and wear red on Friday, but I don’t think I own any red shirts so we’ll see…

Chris, you're putting words in my mouth, I hope you don't try putting anything else in there... Are you reading between the lines? If so, how many fingers am I holding up? Right! 3!! Man, you're good!
As for the other countries, who cares about them if they don't have oil?

Chris, glad to see you're well red!

Chris, you are dead wrong about the WOMD being the main priority. Were you watching the very 1st speech that Bush gave after 9/11? It was about terrorism.

Another thing. Do you really think that only 1 week after the war, that we can find everything that fast? This is a country not a small area. It takes time.

Also Bush said VERY clearly that we were going to put an end to terrorism. Remember? You were either with us, and our cause, or you were against us. Remember that?

Now, does Iraq support terrorism or not? Of course they do, or did.

Bush hasnt been doing anything different than what he promised he would do. That is go after terrorists, and supporters of terrorism. 1st Afganistan now Iraq, maybe Syria next.

Another thing, would it be wise to try and single out more than one country at a time? No. We may spread ourselves to thin militarily speaking.

Each terroristic organization will get whats coming in due time. You dont just start shooting your mouth off as a strategy to every country that you plan to deal with.

Sorry X, I forgot about you.

I quote,"There are other ways other than an all out invasion of a said country to accomplish this" end quote.

OK X, name one or two of those ways please.
