In answer to your 1st question, no but it helps. Hell, how do we know you are even going to stick around yourself. Why dont you hang around a while 1st and see.

You may know forum software, but you dont know us. I recommend letting Gonz do his job. Most of us know of the other sites, and are still here. I think that says something about CBid on its own. Just my opinion.... :>)

I love this forum, the best one I have ever come across. I've been to other fancy forums, and it just doesn't tickle my pickle. And its not due to the format, but the people. Yes, y'all here at cbid tickle my pickle. I think this simple format suits this site well.

You should expect animosity when you do that.

Magnafide - I see your point, but the fact that I'm interested in improving (IMHO) this place, should show you that I plan on sticking around. And knowing your users IS the most important thing of building a site. But, me starting this conversation is not a knock on Gonz. I get good constructive feedback from the users of my sites continually. I ask for it, and value it.

Its been a tradition for a while, the cigar to SteveS is something thats been going on before I came along. I've been posting for about a year now. A CBid customer for about 3+ yrs.

I really dont know how many folks have actually sent the cigar. Other veterans here may know.

SteveS is also the head of the football pool around here. He is a great guy too. I've met him in person a few times... :>)

You actually seem like a good guy to me...let us get to know you...things you say later will be taken in a better way...just my opinion... ;>)

I like this forum for what it is, simple. No distractions with pictures,member status, etc... I like to come on and read the posts without all of that other stuff taking up space.
I don't post alot but I do read the posts a couple times a week. I probably wouldn't if I had to deal with all the "extras".

Sorry, guys (Hog, Mag), but 'm gonna have to stand behind Turbo on this one. 1st thing, I, too, like the way things are around here, but Turbo was just sinply asking a question and making a simple suggestion. There really is no need to jump all over him for that. This isn't somebody's home, it is a public forum. The fact that he is new here, doesn't mean that he doesn't have the right to state his opinions.

Turbo I came off Harsh because as you stated yourself... you came in harsh.. I'm just one who meet's em at the door!!! Sorry if I came off harsh but this forum has been around a hell of allot longer then myself, and Gonz and the rest really didn't even need it here to begin with... BUT it is here and it's there layout so most "Including myself have become fond of how it is!!! along with bidding I can Bull****!!!!

Basically this is a KISS format... "Keep It Simple Stupid" layout and many fellow dwellers to this spot live it and love it... it breaks them away from the Everyday BS they have to put up with in the real world!!! maybe you should try a Kiss Format yourself and see how many rave's you get for the layout!!!!

I checked out your sites. I've seen a cigar site which looks similar in style to the www.protegeclub.com .

Your sites look professional and all that. I personally think CBid has more friendly look. I dont know why exactly, but thats just how it seems to me.

Your sites also have a lot of people posting. Heck, many of the titles have hundreds of threads and thousands of posts. How can you keep up with that kind of volume if you are following a discussion?

Obviously others must like it, or it wouldnt have so much traffic. Good job!

In my opinion I like the smaller site Like CBid. You practically know every poster, unless they are a newbie.

A few more options sound great, but I hope CBid stays smaller than the others for reasons I've already stated..... :>)

I think that a messaging function would be awesome on this site, as well as being able to see who's online, if they wish it to be known.

Cuban Schmooban, Fancy Schmanncy! I just looked at the Supra page and about went blind. Couldn't get one of the others to load and I'm on cable! I say this site does exactly what it was designed to do. If you tally the votes, most of us want it left the way it is. Gonz, are you listening?
