Slim, I read and re-read the Davidoff Cigars thread. There must be something lurking under the surface there that does not get through my dense cranium, because for the life of me I cannot see anything in there that would make someone want to resign. Not that I really need to know.

There are some rude posts on c-bid, but I don't think that the other BBS's are any more or less civilized than this one, and I like the core cast of characters here a lot, including the ones I disagree with the most on non-cigar issues. Feel free to accuse me of smoking counterfeit cubans. I ain't leavin.

Thanks, Slim. Steve called my attention to that thread, too. If I had read that first I would have omitted the levity from my previous post. Got to hope things work out for USAHog soon.

I'm a long time customer/lurker/reader and occasional poster. I have noticed a large amount of childish outlandish posts/posters. That's what has swayed me to spend more time on other more cordial and new user friendly cigar sites than on this forum. But, I must say when I post questions the answers come quick and the ones that reply are great! I still will remain a member here. Great info and resource! Thanks to the owners of this site and to all those that make it a useful and entertaining forum!

Some of the other boards are more closely moderated. I like the looseness here. Kinda like an internet old west! When it gets nasty you can wade in or back away.

I know that I am a little late on this thread...Robby is correct I too checked out the Davidoff thread and just don't get it.

At any rate, I will catch the Hog on CW.

We all like this board very much and want it to remain the great forum it. But how on earth can it remain so if the posters that make it good leave? The answer isn't to boot the obnoctious newbie posters, but to stay and continue to post here dispite them.
To all those who feel that abandoning ship is the way to go consider this. The message that sends to the flamers is "Okay, it's your board now screw it up all you like." So everytime someone leave or threatens to do so you relinquish alittle more of the board to the Dark Side. The real solution is to stay on board, post in the manner you feel belongs on this board and ignore, do not respond to flames or obnoctious posts at all. Flamers are looking for a response, a reaction, a good fight. If they don't get it they will leave or maybe change the way they post. Some will stay but who cares, let there threads die and move on. We out number them. Don't judge the whole board by a few bad eggs.

So to all the old timers who are lurking and reading posts. Just post for god's sake!!! And help to bring the board back to the way it should be.

But I don't think it has any thing to do with a few bad eggs IMHO I think it is more that some of us have other things going on in our lives that are much more important and need the attention than does the Poor taste posting and bickering that goes on in here. Some people have a life outside the forum and I think that when all this garbage goes on in here they just say I don't need this I came here to relax and enjoy the company not put up with this kind of garbage and they just POOF..Case in Point is Hog he has some other things going on in his life that are important for his well being and he Loves this Forum enough to know that he may at a week moument buy into the problems here by tring to stand up for what he believes in and do it in a way that may not be to the standards that he whishes to live by. So it is better to take a break and take care of business than to keep coming in here to the unrest that some cause and have it affect him and what he believes in..Any how thats what I get from reading his posts over this whole matter..As for me when I made the commiment about leaving I had allot of other things going on that were Extremely important at the time and I didn't want to have anything to do with what was going on and the people or person causeing the problem. But as you say Ignoring those people is the best way to take care of them and I for One do just that now when I do have time to come in and chat with all My BOTL.. This is still the BEST Boeard on the web for freindships of a common Love the LEAF.. I for One thank ALL the Great people in here and the support they give each other when it is needed.. You have the cigar forum.You want to look at pretty (and not so pretty,mine included...LOL) pictures you have the picture forum. You want to work on some trades? You have the trading forum.

They always come back! Anyway I say lighten up and if I or someone else says something you don't like ignore it,I do. OK, so maybe I don't but I do delete more of my posts lately than I ever have and I'm usually only jumping on the new guys that come in here posting a bunch of crap.
