It might come as a surprise to those of you who count your time on this BB in terms of weeks or months rather than years, but during the current calendar year, more than 40 high-calibre, long-time members of this board ... guys such as USAHog ... have chosen to leave this forum ...

There are a number of reasons for that, but most of all, it's the exchange of personal barbs that until fairly recently were almost never seen here, but which in recent times have become the daily norm ...

The time for that to come to an end is long overdue ... soon, this will have gone from being the most enjoyable cigar BB on the 'Net to being one of the least enjoyable ... the increasingly common personal attacks and the consequential departure of those more than 40 guys are absolutely intolerable

Exactly what I have seen on other Boards/Forums/Chats Steve. I haven't been on here very long, relative to others, but I have noticed the personal attacks from time to time.

I have vistied other boards and they are highly offensive and derogotory. Cbid is by far the best and should remain that way.

From what I see, the posters from those other boards visit us as well and assume we are as juvinile as they are.

I agree that people should respect each other and each others opinions. We may not agree on political view points. I know I disagree with many people here but I have never resorted to nor would I ever resort to personal attacks. Playful barbs...well maybe,LOL.
We are bonded by one common element and that is the love of the leaf. X

I too, have found this to be oen of the "Nicest" boards out there. I've been here almost a year and I VERY rarely post on any religious or political threads since I now there will be pros and cons to everything. People who post on these types of threads have to realize that there will be others with opposite thoughts and views so they have to be ready to deal with that.

BUT, discussions should remain civil and NOT become personal attacks !!

I have been here, for a relatively short time, since Feb. of this year. I have visited and posted,at every cigar BB on the net, at least the one's I have knowlege of. This is the only one, where I can list the number of posts, to be in the hundreds. I other words, this is the only forum, where I have stayed. Yes I have observed some name calling, and personal attacks, but most are handled by way of another BOTL, standing up to the name caller, and they either retract their statement, or leave. Example Digisle. Even with the personal attacks, which seem rare here compared to other boards. This is the best cigar related BB on the net. Nowhere else, would I even think of calling another board member a BOTL. Just my .02

I've been out for a few weeks as I moved and took my DSL with me. What the hell happened? Hog's cool.

After the initial jd/Mag incident, I've treaded lightly with my political posts. I think it best to type your opinions as if the person/s you're talking to are in the room with you and being BsOTL, most of them garner a certain, automatic respect.

I'm with Steve, let's fight the good fight and keep this place civil, but if someone unfairly attacks you, try to ignore it. People who do this are likely not worth your time. F*** 'em!

Its a shame so many have left, but so many of the new guys are great. Let's just make the best out of what we have.

I agree with Steve, please keep personal attacks out of these boards. And everyone should remember, you don't always have to be right, you don't have to be the one to get the last shot in, and you aren't here to save the world or change any of our beliefs. Say what you have to, but let go when you must.

I agree. I have seen some of the personal attacks and it is just plain silly what they were about. We all have rights to say our say. And yes we are all bound together by a comman thread. And I know sometimes we take things personal or we say something in typing that could eaisly be misunderstood. And sometimes we have to say I am sorry and just go on. But thats the thing to do and then we can just all have a great time voicing our 2- 25 cents worth of stuff.

I use to always purchase here, but all the $hitty
