There may be something to this. I just visited the auction and it appears that all the bids HAVE been rigged (to a level that I cannot afford to buy any of the cigars up for auction!) It appears that the prices are still somewhat below CI prices and well below retail prices in most cases but I think they have been artificially inflated by "THE MAN" just to keep me down.

I think this might not be entirely legal as the OP suggested.

There is no way I am going to be able to improve the quality of smokes in my humidors at these "rigged bid" prices.

Can you feel my pain? This just isn' right, something has got to be done.

Let me re-read the Rules for Bidding, I may find a loophole.

Does anyone know a good attorney?

(Is that an oxymoron, "good attorney"?)

I was at a swank Manhattan restaurant tonight and somehow this place had arranged for there to be a bunch of "fake" customers sitting at all the other tables. All these decoy diners were pretending to order and then eat steak and veal and expensive fish, and you know why?

IT WAS ALL TO TRICK ME INTO SPENDING MONEY THERE!

Bastids.

Tapout. Your comments always go against the grain. 2nds aren't actually 2nds, but inferior tobacco? 98% are fake, c'mon.
This OP is just ignorant. Nobody cares that this guy can still get great deals on cigars here, but he wants to whine about it.

After rereading his question a few times, I think what he is refering to is there is no bid history displayed like on the on the other big auction site. Therefore, you don't know who bid you up or if it's somebody from Cigar Bid doing it.

Rest assured, I feel 100% confident that Cigar Bid does not bid up bids for the purpose of increasing revenue. I think almost all other people here will agree. Some auctions I get pushed to my autobid limit, but others I have practically stolen cigars at a low price when my autobid was set much higher. This company is not in the business of screwing their customers. There are plenty of other places to buy cigars if they did. Cigarbid/CI has a loyal following for a reason, you get good cigars at good prices and if there is a problem they will take care of it.

The assertion that CI is rigging bids is ludicrous.

These pretzels are making me thirsty.

Mark, I appreciate you trying to explain and all, but this is not worthy of it. 99.9% of us know how great CI is and that bidding is handled appropriately so let's not waste any more time trying to defend them.

There are guns and ammunition and a Penthouse magazine beside the sofa and he just bought an extra dead-bolt lock (his 10th) to go on the front door.

billkerns - I can tell you with 100% honesty, the bidding system is not rigged in any way. We've been in busy for 11+ years. And many have been with us since day 1. Surely, they will attest to the system, let alone the savings. You don't become the biggest and best cigar auction site by cheating your customers. That said, please shoot customer service an email if and when you think this happens again, as we would be more than happy to explain the bidding process to you, step by step, using your auction as an example.

So let me get this straight...

You go to place a bid on an auction, that someone else has a bid on. When you place your bid, the person who had bid on the auction disappears and now you are the winning bid?

If that is correct, then how do you gather that CBid is rigging bids?

If you watch some bids a little longer, or do some searches on the threads here you will see that some people put bids out there for a buck or a few bucks knowing that they will lose... Why you ask? It has been stated before but, you are only allowed to save watched lots for 15 days. You can view lost bids for up to 60. If you are trying to track an item to see how what it goes for, this is one method of doing it.
