i printed 50 posts on the misc board and counted them.
30 were political posts, 20 were misc.

of the 30, RICKAMAVEN posted 4. several people posted more then 4.

so much for my "obsession."

Yo Rick:

Don't be a sneak, no one likes a sneak.

You jump on other peoples non-political posts and make them politcal just to bash GW.

Example:

Cavallo's non-political post, "Whose property is it?".

Your reply: "read all you can about ranger stadium in texas.

sorry tony, it is about bush."

However it's not your fault, all passive-agressives are sneaky by nature.

JonR

Ps: Maybe if you "actually voted" in this up-coming election you might relieve some of that pent up hostility.

Rick ... it'd be more relevant to count all the posts you've made in the past 90 days and see how many were about ANYthing other than politics ...

I find you to be a loveable, charming, engaging, witty, intelligent, endearing and entertaining guy when you address ANY other topic, but I and am sad to say, THAT Rick (the one I truly like) has been in absentia in recent months, part of the time because you and Toby were in Vegas, but most of the time because you DO seem to be obsessed with politics.

Rick

Steve S has pretty much stated what I feel about you, since I have "known" you for over 4 years, and have found equal footing in our love of hummingbirds, jazz & blues music, movies, sports, and other fun things! And of course, let us not forget cigars!

But your manic obsession with political hatred is just a little too much for me, I have tried to stay out of political wars, but everytime, you drag me back in! Back to movies, etc!

Let's not forget about Rick's evil twin, USAHOG. Talk about obsession. Just on the first page of the misc. forum he has 19 posts that he started, virtually all Anti-Kerry. Now there is someone with an obsessive compulsive disorder. LMAO!!!!!

uncleb, for me it's called freshly retired and a bit bored....

I've got obsessions but Kerry isn't one of them... come November it will all dwindle down... Besides... Type in Bush in search and see how many Negative to positive posts there are on just GWB alone ;0)~~~

Nothing wrong with keeping a little fair and Balance... oh that is if your a conservative...

Oh I've posted 20 or 30 myself. Just never in a 15 minute span. LMAO!

Hog- I am just kidding. Just trying to keep it fair and balanced. Didn't want Rick to twist alone. LOL.

SteveS

don't worry, it will soon end either way and i'll try to return to the days of old, when out of the past come the thundering hooves of the great horse silver.

I just don't think any of this matters to our friend Maven. The obsession with paranoid news sources....hatred of anything Bush....his concerns that the government is conspiring to destroy the country...have overcome his previous personality.

I hope he reads his friend SteveS post and takes some of it to heart before his hatred and paranoia consume what is left of his former self.

I see you already read it. Hope it gives you some food for thought.

quick question.

why are my sources paranoid and your's and/or people with your beliefs, accurate?

is it like my kids are outgoing and your kids are boisterous.

My answer:
I have gone into most of the links that Rick posts. They tend to be "news" sources that lean towards the alarmist way of reporting. Over-reaction and over emphasis on negatives that point towards the iminent collapse of our country if things don't change now.

Guess what...people have been predicting doom and destruction for eons, but it has really never come about...and probably wont.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I read my local paper, I read the SF Chronicle, NY Times, Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, Time, National Geographic; I watch CNN, MSNBC, Fox and local news, Howard Stern, Bob and Tom, Larry King and Jay Leno. I even scan through the sources Rick likes to glean information from.
From all those sources, plus what I see in real life..I add up all the opinions and get a pretty good clue of what is real and what is not.
As to Rayder's list, I actually read the front page and editorial (laugh) section of NY Times at Starbucks, watch MSNBC, Fox,Hannaty and Colmes, Bill O'Reilly, Chris Matthews, Joe Scarborgh, listen to O'Reilly and Al Rantell while driving, and read OC register,LA Times, Time, Newsweek, and few other periodicals, and OH YeS Sports Illustrated and ESPN Magazine....have not commited to far left except for NY Times, LA Times and once in a while the New Yorker!
From all of this I really am more liberatarian than Republican, but choose to vote for Republicans!
Well I didn't list the sports stuff. But nonetheless...I don't utilize a few favorable places to hear news or opinions (sometimes they are interchangible). I gather my information from many, many places and I (because I get to) put them into a perspective that works for me.
I find that my results aren't so different from the educated masses
I remember Noah very well. Mr. Zark, a retired professional bowler, ran for city council against Marion Berry and was soundly trounced by a group of enlightened and un-suppressed voters.
