So, to ensure we Americans never offend anyone, particularly fanatics intent on killing us, airport security screeners will no longer be allowed to profile certain people. They must conduct random searches of 80-year-old women, little kids, airline pilots with proper identification, secret agents who are members of the President's security detail, 85-year old Congressmen with metal hips, and Medal of Honor winning and former Governor Joe Foss, but leave Muslim Males between the ages 17 and 40 alone because of profiling.

I totally agree. Profiling is a valuable tool that is being purposely ignored in complete defiance of common sense.



Regarding item #11, there's evidence to suggest that the last airliner was shot down, but the passengers selflessly sacrificing themselves does make for a more inspirational story. I hope that the original version proves true.

As a white guy it’s easy to justify racial profiling. What happens when they start profiling against white guys? Will you be so eager to defend it?

The proper term for it is not "Profiling". That would be the "politically correct" term.

The proper term for it is actually "Policing the statistics". Statistics do not lie. They are an invaluable tool to law enforcement personnel.

When on the Serengeti plain, it would behoove you to be careful around lions, leopards, black mambas, elephants and hyenas. The wildebeasts, springboks, giraffes and storks bear less watching.

Profiling is a common sense survival technique that we all practice. You can try to deny it, but you're just kidding yourself and aiding the enemy.

And who said that we're all white? Are you profiling us?

If a series of crimes were committed in my area by a guy matching my description, I would not be surprised to find myself being detained and questioned ...

But, not only would I be more than a little surprised to learn that 80 year old women or 20-something jockeys were being picked up and questioned, I'd be lauging myself silly about the foolishness of doing so ...

Let's face it ... it's entirely reasonable to more carefully look at those matching the descriptions of perpetrators of a crime and it's entirely UNREASONABLE to do otherwise ...

If we profiled on the morning of 9-11-01, 3,000 families would be better off today.

It's my understanding that those cowardly thugs not only were middle eastern muslim men between the proper ages, but also many had one way tickets and only recently had arrived into America.

If we profiled on that fateful day, we would have saved thousands of lives.

Yet, if we profiled on that day, the liberals would be lined up to protest and bemoan the injustices in this great nation.

The FBI has used Profiling for years, and they should continue to do so! I agree with Joe, if we had been alert (profiling) on Sept 11, 2001 we could have prevented a mass murder by Muslim Male Extremest, mostly between the ages of 17-40!

Just our late 20th century wars and dictators show Christians to be way, way behind.
Stalin killed 10 million of his own people during his reign. Russia lost 12 million soldiers along with about twice that number of civilians in WW2. No one knows the numbers for sure but the Japanese killed millions of Chinese. And then there were those pesky Cambodians. I haven't even mentioned WW1.

Christians are pretty far down on the list. But it does sound cool to say,"And all of these people were killed in the name of God!"

Don't take that to mean that I'm sh*tting blood, I use the word for exclamatory purposes.

Death in the name of faith has reared it's ugly head in many ways. Think of the Conquistadors coming to the "new world". Visigoths, Aryans, Cathars all Christians destroyed by other Christians. Protestant, Lutheran, Catholic all warring eachother. Each group believing they were doing right under God.

I'm no Christian hater. I'm merely pointing out that most religions (even the dearest to our hearts) have bloody pasts (presents and futures). The Islamic religion is 1300 years old. Think about the religious turmoil in Europe during the 1300's.

I am just trying to point out flaws in profiling. Also, I was jumped on for making statements about Christianity. Fine, I knew I would be. Keep your actions in mind the next time you or others make a statement about another religion. Maybe a little religious tolerance is needed more than religious intolerance.

But we're not looking to profile Muslims for their past. It's the present that we need to be concerned with.
