I agree that rare, hard to find cigars and ISOM's could be considered collecting, not Lone Wolfs and Hamilton House! Charlie

I have some 60yr old ISOM's, so that settles it, I'm a collector.LOL. X

I always end up with a lot of smokes that wind up sitting in my humidors for months and even years cause I seem to go through phases of liking one or two brands at the exclusion of all others I have.

When I run out of the favorites, instead of smoking the other brands that have been sitting, I tend to order more of the favorites instead! Does that make me a collector or an impulsive buyer of brands I never smoke?

..i feel so incomplete; i only have about a 6 month rotation; that is, any cigar i pull typically has about 6 months humi time on it. i do a replacement in batches of about 20 at a time once a month; mostly through CI unless i want to splurge on some VSGs or SG Fuentes or other brand i can't find here. Hey X, i think you need to send me one of those 60 yr old ISOMs so i can do a aging verification test on it...

OK, MR.Mean, put em up..it's GO time. LOL. Actually I have some Gurhka ISOM Dbl Corona's that I got awhile back from I don't know where. They're OK,Medium strength at best and alittle sweet. X

At present I have about 2200 cigars, but I don't consider myself a collector, but a precautionist. I see which way the wind is blowing, and eventually it will be near impossible to buy cigars online if at all,(that process would have speeded up greatly had Gore became president did you hear how he wanted to attack tobacco?) and the taxes will continue to go up, not to mention doomsday could hit and its best to be prepared. I don't collect in the sense that I pop the lid of a box every now and then, take a whiff and carefully put it back. I honestly plan on smoking all of them eventually and I won't shed a tear when I smoke a so called prized cigar, I will enjoy it and be done with it. I also have 6,000 books in my basement, those I do collect in the true sense.

You know, I consider Aberdeen my best friend.

At my casual rate of usage, I have about a ten year stock. If they cut out the internet sales though as CA tax sucks I may just give it up again as I did during the boom when a decent cigar was just out of my price range.

BTW, if you feel like a pariah to the govt. for being a cigar smoker, try owning guns. Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they are not out to take your fun. 🙂

I have a Vigilant cabinet that is over 6 feet tall and about 5 feet wide, it sits right smack in the middle of the living room, don't ask how I persuaded my wife to put it there. Schatzihund I have been curious, since you live in California, it is okay to buy cigars online and not pay taxes? Some companies charge taxes when shipping to certain states, and I was wondering if the internet is a legitimate way around these taxes, and if so CI/CB needs to start selling cigarettes online and make a killing off these folks in the east paying these new high taxes and California besides. Sure selling cigarettes isn't as glorious as cigars, but I see a big market there ripe for the picking.
