Okay . . . As long as we are putting our opinions out there, here's mine.

When CB first joined CBid, I invited him to join me and the SJHC for a herf.
I gave him a "welcome fiver" and explained what the BOTL philosophy was all about.
You know . . . Trades, RAOKs, ballbusting, etc etc.
Well, Steven doesn't do ANYTHING half-azzed, so he jumped right in and stirred up the Trades Board , pissing off quite a few of the brothers. I'm sure you are all aware of that situation.
And then we have the RAOK from Buckwheat fiasco. Again, Stephen pissed off a bunch of brothers.
Now we have the latest incident with the PJ thing at the "event" yesterday. Once again, he pissed off some brothers.

Now before you think I'm writing an anti-CB post, let me continue.
You may not agree with his "tactics", but I ASSURE you he is not just out to "fill his humi".
He is a very generous guy and just does things the way he does so he can get quality sticks to send to people. Would I do things his way ? No, but in the end MANY brothers will benefit from his actions.
Seriously . . . Steve is a good guy . . . just a bit unconventional at times.

CB certainly can sell it for whatever he wants.

Just as anyone can comment on it.


The flipping of monster series cigars is a long standing topic and this is the time of year its heated. I don't think anyone here is anti profit but as Kombat brought up BOTL, this strikes you wrong or it doesn't. Has nothing to do with CBs generosity.

If your friend does something wrong do you ignore it because they're your friend? Or do you say something because they're your friend. That's the difference between the two views here.

But wth its a public forum and you spent the money to get the haul.
People may not like it but some of them don't care for the stuff your posting and others might just be coveting the stash.

imho your price is too high.
Personally something signed by Pete carries zero value for me.
Others may have a hard on for it but who knows.

Some people liked The Face. Others didn't.
FYI box of Franks went for $350 last month.
My personal value on a full dress box of Franks? $175 max.

But then again the folks at the Sycophant and Suckers Club would probably pay your asking price...

You guys are a trip. What profit? I already said I'm trying to cover the cost of everything else I bought. I picked that number 500 because I have one person who none of you know suggest he might wanna buy them at that price. I'm dealing with this person through someone who posts here! I got a PM that said hey I know a guy who buys for collectors with money to burn and he might be very interested in buying that box at $600... guy came back and said to much lets see if we can lower the price a bit and I might buy them. Why wouldn't I JUMP on that? When someone overbids here on Cbid do you get all mad at Cbid? Nope it's all at least the lights are being paid for and people are stupid. Someone who apparently buys for collectors (people with real cash to burn who pay someone to find them things) is considering buying this box. Why should I sell them cheaper than he might be willing to pay? Just to make you guys happy? BTW This person contacted ME before I had listed them for sale at ANY price. If it doesn't work out who know's I might windup selling them at $350... I've had two offers at that price. Whatever happens...why do you all care so much? Pete was happy to take my cash when he sold me the box why should I be any different? Tired of you people deciding what's right and wrong when it comes to things that don't even affect you!

There are hundreds of other fellow cigar smokers who would have gave their liver for a box of Face (whether it's worthy or not is up to each individual) to ... smoke it, not sell it for profit. Lots of folks are little annoyed at what you are doing b/c you clearly bought it to make profit, not to smoke.

Awesome. I do appreciate good BOMB.

That doesn't change the fact the there is a box sitting there for $500. Doesn't change the fact that the box was flipped in a matter of hours for major profit. Doesn't change the fact that what we see is gouging at it's best.

So ... not sure what you were trying to prove. Yes, he can bomb but he can surely gouge like no other.

Alot of guys are tired of the LE marketing and the behavior that surrounds them.

2:
Stephen I've had my issues with you and you know that, but I consider this your "home board". Cbid is a tight group. If you sell these for that amount I don't care. But when it's brought "home" it's going to rub people the wrong way. Reason being you're not "helping" anyone except yourself. Selling them to that collector or on OLH is the right avenue IMO.

Issue is the look at me and all the stuff i got and to top it of someone like Pete brings out his own stash for ppl and he buys it up just to sell with a price tag of 500$. Im ok with making a profit but lets remember we're called botl for a reason. I myself would love this box...at a normal price even at a decent trade, its helping your fellow BROTHER OF THE LEAF.
