Most all of Wagner' works, particularly Lohengrin, and Parsifal.Others I enjoy Mozart's works, particularly the Marriage of Figaro, and Zaide.

I like Wagner too except for his side work distributing anti-jew pamphlets... 😳

J, Wagner was a despicable human being. But we are talking about operas, not human beings.

He was absolutely despicable but a very interesting composer as far as his life was concerned. He'd get all these prestigious jobs and load up a ton of debt then split once his bills got too high. Plus all the boozing and women. Absolutely sorry person no doubt.

I'll be honest, I really don't have much interest in the operas but I do love some great classical music. Smetana's "Ma Vlast," Dvořák's "New World Symphony," Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition" are my three favorites. I also enjoy a lot of Josef Suk's works and Tchaikovsky as well.

I wish I had friends like Mussorgsky to be honest. He wrote that piece as a funeral piece in tribute to one of his buddies that passed away. Absolutely beautiful way to go out in my opinion.

My favorite classical pieces are both by Beethoven, Fur Elise, and Moonlight Sonata. Though I should add I like all of his work. A close second would be Handel, my favorites being water Water Music, and Alcina.

I made a point of getting opera tickets for this season in SF. I've only been to a couple in my life, and wanted to see more.

The only musical I can say was ok would be the new "les miserable". Hugh jackman is the man.
