My brother has skeeters BAD in his back yard. He's tried several different solutions over the years. He finally has settled on Bifen I/T. Apparently this is what a lot of commercial control services use. He sprays it after each mowing.

The problem in AZ (and I suspect in DED's neighborhood) is that you can spray all you want, if your neighbor on either side doesn't also do so, you get a lot of overlap of skeeters since yards here are pretty close together.

Yup, and different varieties fly different distances but all of them cover hundreds of yards. Some many miles.

I have a table top Thermacell lantern that works great as long as there is little or no breeze.
Added a small "Big Ass Fan" on the outside deck and it works great at keeping the bugs away - but have to turn it off while grilling as it keeps the smoke from rising and escaping. I can usually set it on a low or mid speed and it works wonders.

If you put a ceiling fan outdoors, make sure it is exterior/outdoors rated - sealed motor housing, exterior blades - or it will not last more than a year before motor issues and blades sag from moisture.

Wanna get rid of skeeters? Move in with Drafter. Whenever he's on the Vherf it sounds like they are holding electric chair executions behind him. It's really his industrial sized bug zapper... or he's playing with his cattle prods again. Either or. Maybe both?

Dyna trap will kill the whole neighborhoods mosquito problem but I do get concerned about overkill with that thing. As I love my bats!
Thermacell is perfect for the deck, by the pool, the herf shed or strapped to your belt while you move around the yard. works great! Can't live without it in Jersey

Elon Musk made one safe for indoors called Fuze bug I think?
Curious about that one as I believe it doesn't emit any Co2 or Pyrethrins?

For me it's
Thermacell & bats. If there's a big party I'll run the dyna trap

Actually, in New Jersey it's the biting flies. You get near a salt water marsh or near the beach and you need armor. They really hurt!

I live in a swamp in the midwest.

Even if I don't sit outside I get mosquito bites.

Spray is always on hand. 30% is enough. I used to think the 100% deet was best but it melts polymers and isn't anymore effective beyond that.

I have a lil handheld propane fueled hot fogger that I use around all the landscaping and stuff near my outdoor seating and it definitely helps, but still need spray.

I bought a propane machine with a net that claimed mosquito eradication up to an acre. I set it about 50ft from my deck and would catch mosquitos by the pound. Didn't notice a difference in bites. It's an attractant like the zappers so it draws em in. Taking out 10k when there's 10m in the area.

Bought a thermacell for camping and I think that is the best zone protection for small spots. No bug spray on my body and as long as I'm within a few feet of the thing they mostly leave me alone. If I use the fogger first and then fire up the thermacell I've got a skeeter free night.
