In speaking the phrase aloud, there's no call for a pause or separation such as you would do with a list. Neither is there an independent nor introductory clause to separate.

One could try to rearrange the sentence structure along the lines of, "Off, ya can't beat it." However, that would do little to assuage our base interpretation of the wording.

Rick,

The pest control company deployed these and there was a major curtailing of mosquitoes at the taproom within a week. They basically poison the female, and she takes the poison around to breeding sites, killing the larvae, then it kills her.
