Hey Mac's...

BLow me...

200 federal agents living up your ass for 18++ months is no comparison to a hunk of rubber on the highway you can easily dodge if you have better motor skills than a tard...

Just saying...

I still get your logic...but your a douchebag at heart...
Always will be...you can't change that...

Dodge that tread when it pops right off the truck in front of you and flies right up into your windshield or goes right under your front bumper.

Sometimes it doesn't matter what you do.

You wanna throw stones, fugger... prepare to get your glass windows shattered.

I used to blow retreads on purpose so I could sit along the highway almost getting hit every other car and so the company could pay the roadside service few, plus mileage to me and double the price for another retread tire…… . I’ve had brand new trailer tires blow, I’ve had drive tires on the tractor blowout, sometimes **** happens….. summer time is the most common because of the hot weather an over inflated tire builds so much heat it’s crazy.

When I use to do my daily commute on the interstates and highways around MA (Rt 2, I-190, I-495, I-95/Rt 128, I-93), retread debris was a common sight. Thankfully I was never hit by one but had to swerve from hitting them.

I too question why they are allowed. I can't imagine (well, I can imagine) being behind a semi and having one rip off and come crashing through my windshield at 80 mph. It would not be a pretty sight.

Should be illegal on any street legal vehicle. I’ve already dodged two today that were lying in the middle of I-80 and I’ve been driving for less than 30 minutes.

You should be on a Bike running next to a trucker or behind and they toss a tread... That Chit hurts to Hell... many times, so I try and get passed a truck ASAP, but then you get these left lane huggers who are afraid to pass the big rigs... 90% of the time is about when it's going to toss a tread!!

This retired car crash lawyer believes what his experts have told him and what accident reconstruction books and courses taught over the years: Retreads are dangerous and should be outlawed, IMO.

Thank you Robert, that is interesting. I've read that 44%* of trucks are using retreds, (*from the internet, so take it with a grain). Requiriing new tires for all vehicles would exponitionaly increase tire carcass disposal problems, OTOH, the road shoulders would eventually look a lot cleaner and some car repair shops would have less business.

I am still curious to know if, just like tires, not all retreads are the same.

I’ve run both. Had about equal failures. Some of that stuff you see on the roads is actual tires. Just sayin. Since the cheap Chinese tires have become available I typically buy those. Have 3 trucks that run local hauling grain. There’s specific names in retreading that I’d buy from if the price was right. Michelin is one.

Recaps are way better today than they were years ago. I’ve left what looks like a retread on the road more than once. (I got out and picked it up). It was not a retread it was just the tire itself coming apart

Not for or against retreads. But price a new Michelin 11r 22.5
I just think they have their place
