Short night of sleep. Let that be the biggest challenge I feel today.
Have a small list of erands.
A stop at the bike shop also planned. Wife would LOVE for me to stop talking about getting an Ebike.
Get one. Don't get one. Get on with it!
Trying to figure out all the variables. Battery size/type, type of motor and placement, range, what type of bike lock, etc.
Paralysis through analysis.
Twenty NEIN!

This is the one I bought. I'm pleased with it.
https://tinyurl.com/e9envk2dOne thing I wanted was a battery that I could easily take off and bring in the house to charge or you can leave it on and charge it in the garage. A replacement battery pack prolly runs about a couple hunnerd dollars so I wanted a removable one to deter any bike thief. This one has removable battery pack. The battery pack can also be locked to the bike frame and the lock is built into the battery pack. If you want to lock the bike in your travels, just a standard bike lock.
I actually bought 2 of them so my Son and I or his girlfriend can use them to go for rides. I haven't tested out the mileage range on a single charge since I just use it to tool around town or do short bike rides (30 min ride type of thing).
Under full battery run it pegs out around 20 MPH since, at least in MA and most states, over 20 MPH the vehicle is then considered a motorized vehicle and has to be registered with the DMV and have a license plate and all that stuff.
The controller on this bike has a built in governor that disengages the electric drive around 20 MPH so they can sell them as a bike and not a motorized vehicle. I live in a town that is kinda hilly so when going downhill the motor turns off around 20 MPH... it's like putting your car in neutral and gravity takes over. I know for a fact I've hit about 30 MPH going down hill (the controller has a speedometer).
I looked into and downloaded the manual for the controller. I can go into the settings to disable that governor but I think 20 MPH on a bike is plenty fast enough.
Bucky said helmets suck... 😟

In hindsight, helmets don't suck. If I wore one on that day of the accident, I probably wouldn't have to spend days in ICU for issues from that accident. If I was a cat, I prolly used up at least 4 of my 9 lives so far... at least that's as many that I can remember. All of which can be traced back to human (me) error.
