How do you justify protesting when it causes traffic jams and ties up the police?

What about the people who are laying down in traffic to make their point? They need boom boxes blaring an MP3 of Cartman going Waaa Waaa Waaa. I'm a little protester because I hate Bush and the war.

What about the ambulance that gets caught in that traffic jam? Is that justifiable? They have their "right?" to lay down in traffic!!! and the poor guy taking a dirt nap because they "got creative" with their "self expression?" what about his widow? WHAT DO YOU TELL HER!!??

What about the useless deployment of police forces in an attempt to mop up this worthless waste of human flesh? We're at a heightened stated of alert for terrorism not to mention the murderers and rapists out there, and you have 50 cops trying to get people out of the street! Give me a BREAK! Those people should go to jail, they should not pass go, they should not collect 2 hundred dollars, and they should STAY THERE for a looooong time while they think about their stupidity.

Radios work indeed. Are you saying there is "zero possibility" that an emergency vehicle might be delayed by these types of protests? How do you justify your actions to the loved ones of the victim YOU created with your demonstration?

What about the police resources called off from chasing down bad guys? Suppose a rapist gets away or doesn't get caught as a result of your "free speech"? How do you justify your protest to his next victim? Your victim...? An impossible scenario? If it help you sleep at night, ok, ok...

Ken, when you say you should "protest whatever" you are really showing your total lack of intelligence, and the general problem with these war protests to begin with.
The many "protests" that are true "Peace Rallys" are what this country is all about. Speaking one's mind and opinion in a thought provoking and law abiding manner.
The "War Protests" on the other hand reek of fools like you who see it as a forum to cry about anything and everything. We're sorry that Uncle Sam hasn't sent you your latest welfare check so you could buy a clue, but don't waste our time bitching about it.

A healthy dose of personal responsiblity has never caused anyone harm, and usually is quite an elixir.

civil war i believe appomattox where the south surenderd. i'm not sure about the town. might have been gettysburg. i didn't want to look it up, i'll go by memory. hard to remember where i was that day.

charlie arquette, i believe that name is correct has or had a museum dealing with the civil war. i remember a battle scene with all soldiers hand carved and painted by charlie. he used to be on the original hollywood squares.

Protest "whatever" you like, it's your right. But there is no constitutional right to disrupt traffic. That denys the rights of others. It's illegal, immoral, it's a public nusance and a it's public safety hazard. God forbid you should ever have an emergency and the police or fire fighters or ambulence are delayed because somebody thinks they have the right to stop traffic.
