If you're a Mooch, and would like free cigars and stuff (emphasis on "stuff", as we don't want to put restrictions on the amount of free chit you can request here).......just post in this thread.

It could potentially save you some time....not to mention having to rack your brains in order to come up with dramatic responses, where the fine line of juggling all the "Don't you DARE send me cigars, even though I really would love you to, yet have no plan to send you anything in return" comments become all too relevant.

And not only will it save YOU some time...

But it will also let those who like (perhaps LOVE) sending you said "stuff".......with only the knowledge that it brings a smile to your face....know exactly where to come to look for these self-proclaimed Mooches in need.

And to the Mooches of Cbid past, present, and future...

You're welcome. Anxious

Hey Kyle.I got a 30pk of Bud lite unsolicited today.

Should I be posting it here or post here when it is almost gone so I can get another?

Thanks in advance for your response.

Dammit....I knew there was something I overlooked.

I want to be clear about this.....Mooching does not have boundaries on items, nor on time. This is not like a PIF or PIB where you can only go once a week.

You can mooch twice in the same day if you'd like to. Hell....why stop there? Just try to improve upon the amount of mooching you'd previously accomplished before. Establish goals....really go for it, ya know?

Anyway...

The answer to your question TIGER, even though I went about it in a round about way, is you can post in here any time my friend. Before you crack the case, during it's consumption, or after it's gone (all of the above even).

Happy Mooching brethren.

I sent out a few this week and now down to my last one, otherwise I'd get you.

BTW, I'm now accepting any LP, Tat, Viaje, Illusione, AF, MF and similar. This is a limited time offer so act now!

I agree. I like the fact that people do RAOK, I like the noon trades, and I don't really mind the fact that people want cigars for free. It's the feeble attempts at concealment that bother me. It doesn't insult me as a member of this forum or as a cigar smoker, it insults my intelligence as a human. I bought some smokes that I didn't like, so I traded them away. I sent Marcel some that he liked he sent me some that I liked. It just seems like there would be more "for trade" threads or "want to try" threads instead of the ones that are more common now.

This is a great post.....

I don't know you CROS, but I'm happy they found you (the Cbidders who've been looking....I know there were quite a few of em'....I seen the threads).

True ISOs and F/T threads seem to have gone the way of the Dinosaur........

Now its...."ooh, I've never had that"....."boy I'd love to try one of those". Don't take advantage of peoples generosity by acting like a moron.

In all honesty, the most substance that is provided by Cbid these days may very well be on the Political/MISC forum. Mostly just a little nugget of value to be found when sifting through the different forums, and you have to wade through a bunch of BS (grown men acting like children) just to find it. And that's JMO, no one elses.

If you're new and post an ISO, you get flamed. If you're established and post an ISO, you get bombed. However, the PIB/PIF, noob trade, etc are great ways to get involved in trading.

A valid point...and also true. Seen good Brothers run off this board for this very reason.

Goes back to my grown men acting like children comment. Don't underestimate the amount of azzhat'ery that is contained within these walls (I'm such an individual as well...I ain't perfect...however, I do at least try to use rational thought before I make a post and think if what I'm saying is making a positive contribution in some way)....

At the same time though, most of these 1st ISOs if you're new, are for things like "Tat Franks"...and when you're given an offer, where you actually have to give up your OWN cigars in return (non-limited ones mind you)...and you say "nope, that's not gonna work"....well, you deserve to be torched.

If you post an ISO, post what you're offering in return in the thread. That will, at least I'd like to think, give you a decent foundation for finding what you're looking for...and not leave any room for confusion, or poo-slinging. Or at least less room anyway.

I would add, on a discount internet site you're probably more likely to find guys that aren't going to ever try certain sticks.

Yes Kyle is right this seems to be more prevalent in recent times here withing the hallowed halls of the Cbid forums. But. I think its always existed as long as I've been here to some extent.

I don't HAVE to send to anyone, I choose to. Shrug.

100% truth...

with the caveat to that being though Jamie, people that are new have the tendency to feel they HAVE to, in order to establish a rep. It's a culture that's been created here....over a long period of time, and I presume long before I arrived.

Get new guys ("noobs"), recruit them, then the powers that be choose a target, and mass bombing ensues. Whether those new people have any friggen clue who's being bombed, or why, remains to be seen...but since they're new, they still (as I once did) feel that's something they need to do. Those were my choices then, as they are the folks who do so now, and not sure how to fix that obviously....or if it even needs fixing, but the need to vs. choose to angle is a little more blurry I think than you've depicted here.

That's just my .02 on that topic...which I'm sure there are many opinions on, and most that may even differ from my own.

^ when I signed on to the forums, I got involved in IUROX's (I think it was his anyway) HOTW..because I felt that is how you "get started"

I guess it's no diff. than other boards' "Newbie trade thread" though.

We have that here as well, but it's not mandatory to get started trading.

Also, FWIW...I think this is a generally smaller community...which can be good or bad. It's very hard to break in here I think and get a grasp on all the sarcasm that flies here. There is no tone in computer screen text...ya know.

Oh I see you're calling me out now cuz lluvia named me as a noob donkey target! YOU PRICK!

hahahha....I do agree with you actually. BUTT. The recent crop of noobs are very active and have gotten to herfs with fellas from here and are building more than just "acceptance" on a forum in my eyes. For as crappy as some things have been here compared to the past the "community" is alive and well if you're willing to look. Just one idiots opinion though, worth what you paid you opinion mooching bassturd.

It should be noted that when I first joined, I had a 20 ct. desktop humidor and I was sending out my BEST sticks...that I picked up at auction for $5 per.

That's changed a bit since then. LOL

Now for me....I've added more than my fair share of "Hide User's Posts" for a coupla noobs...not my cup of tea post-wise, BUT I'm not going to call them out for it...If that's how they rock it, I just move along (aside from this little notification! LOL) and keep my thoughts to myself.

I just had to sign up after chuckling at this thread, I don't like to type much or post to forums, etc., but trapped at home recupin' from disc fusion may change my ways, this looks like a good place for a "noob", even if it is a little "hot". Just started getting back into cigars after about 15 years off and man I may have to do some moochin' myself, and it isn't in my nature, Ha!

Answer to your 1st question is no. You can, and should, go there to do that should you so choose. Just don't ask for an Opus, and offer a PI and expect any action.

to the 2nd part .... I don't intend on calling anybody out specifically, nor will I. The Mooches know who they are, and the majority of people who spend any time here could perhaps easily identify. But the list runs deeper than just a few people...

Matter of fact, this thread is a safe-haven for Mooching.....where they can speak and roam freely.....without being judged by others.

They should have a place to be able to do that. And thus, this thread was created.

I'm sure this isn't responsive, but perhaps the easiest/least stressful trade I had as a nood (aside from the noob trade thread) was with Muhren. He posted an auction he was interested in and wanted someone to buy it and trade it. Took all the pressure off of me and we had a great trade. This model should be used more frequently with new traders. Easy for both sides...imvho
