Full Proof 1792
really don't recall what I thought of 1792 before, but this is one of those single barrel select deals from one of my local shpos.
Really liking it.
62.5% abv. Sissies need not apply.

Called yesterday and had two bottles of 1792 BIB put on hold. Last bottle I had was exceptional regardless what some of the review sites indicated.

Was $35-ish when I bought mine last year. Couple weeks ago saw it at $40.

After I finish it, won’t be rushing out to get a replacement if it’s still at $40.

hadn't seen either in a few years. Certainly you are correct, single malt is better.
Saw the baby blue for 39 clams and bought it instead of a dusty bottle of Rumble for north of 60.
Thought I bought the last Rumble a few years ago from that place. Not many offerings show up here near Boston.

Really liked their Texas rum, but it was very pricey and haven't seen it in years.

Baby Blue is ok, it's better corn likker, I kinda like it but some of that is my appreciation of this distiller.
With a bit of ice melting, it sweetens up like other bourbons. Every couple years is enough.

Could I have a drinking problem?

Only if you aren't drinking enough...we are close to Balcones distillery. when virus is gone? we'll have to go check it out. About $60 for 750ml single malt here. Pricey when I can get CC Reserve 12 year for less than $20.

Just putting my brain back in a place whem I was truly relaxed and had the lowest stress level I can recall.

Sun.
A week off.
No responsibilities.
No Covid-19.
Relative peace and calm in the country.

The olives represent what once was, not the current reality.

I might start putting Temecula olives in everything.

Green olives and coffee? Hmmm.

Evan Williams BIB +1 dash salted caramel syrup +4 dashes of cherry bitters.

The salted caramel is effected the nose not the taste which is nice, the cherries are background noise and the sweet spicy bourbon is up front.

So... my buddy has been drinking whiskey sours garnished with orange slices... and they look fkn delicious. He's using woodford reserve and some sweet and sour mix.

Thinking I may need to try one.

I haven't found many sour mixes off the shelf I cared for.You probably have a much better selection of mixes than I have access to but my recipe below beats all I've tried.

2 ounces bourbon
1 ounce fresh lemon juice
1/2-3/4 ounce pure maple syrup depending on the sweetness level you like
Orange peel

Add bourbon, lemon juice and syrup to a shaker half filled with ice and shake it up til ice cold.Strain into an ice filled old fashioned glass then drop in the orange peel.

I usually run that orange peel around the rim of the glass before adding ice.The main thing is.........Shaken not Stirred

Just made one. Large shot of bourbon followed by a little more than that of sweet/sour mix. Shaken. Strained. Garnished.

Hot damn. I like these.

you know I love ya, and I have all the faith in the world in your bourbon related opinions.
Just want to reconfirm...you do mean to run the orange peel around the rim of the glass, not your ass...right?
Not a typo?
