Not guns.

So you want to update the old nursery rhyme to................. Lead and steel will hurt and kill, but words are scarier still...

How many students have been killed by a Dem slogan?

No one sees the irony in someone claiming dems are trying to scare kids ?

The NRA is constantly fearmongering.... I've found most of the people who seem the most adamant about having guns are usually the most scared.

I think they want grown ups to figure out how to stop kids in school, and even other people, from getting shot to death.

local school system had trained police meet with teachers, they could not have stressed enough that causing the shooter to be distracted by any means possible can only help increase the odds of either getting out the classroom or rushing the shooter, or both....

the very best way to cause such a disturbance, per the police "expert", would be to throw things, anything one could get their hands on, in the air and directly at the shooter. Books, chairs, anything at all.

Did not watch link beyond the first minute, but I suppose the rocks are there for that purpose.

In this situation that occurred in a school facility you would rather take on a 3" or 3.5" 12 gauge magnum, cylinder bore, and tube extender loaded with 00 rather than a semi auto rifle?

delta1 wrote:
that's a tough one...we trained with Remington 12 gauge shotguns in the academy, and I was crap with them...but they were considered to be the ultimate home defensive weapon according to the instructor/armorer...with 3" or 3.5" magnum loads, phew...deadly and superior stopping power at short distances...

hopefully I will never have to confront either, but since you asked...as with any other emergency, always picture yourself in that scenario and develop a survival plan...

the 12 gauge with a tube extender using 3" rounds would have a max capacity of 8 shots...fewer if using 3.5" mags.

With a typical classroom being roughly 30' x 30', the 00 spray pattern would be 12" max. Reloading the shotgun would take much longer than popping in a magazine in the semi-auto rifle...

Hopefully the shooter isn't as proficient as knokmdown...most aren't...

Survival strategy would be the same for someone with a shotgun or semi-auto rifle...it's best if you can, but if you can't run away or barricade yourself...as a last resort when confronting anybody with a gun, use any distractions (shouting/screaming; throwing available stuff - books, coins, backpacks, purses, chairs at either the shooter or at other objects, hoping he'll expend some ammo shooting at inanimate objects) while taking cover behind anything available... take a peek when there is a pause...

then rush the shooter when his weapon is empty and incapacitate him...get there quickly...

Because of the lower capacity of shots and the longer amount of time reloading a shotgun...I'd rather face that...

seems in line with the training the local teachers received. It was also mentioned the shooter might flee when confronted with such resistance.

That's laughable coming from a guy that assaults homeless people, and promotes the action.

Speaking of people who are scared of everything....
If I recall correctly, from that discussion your response to a homeless person attacking your wife/gf/whatever would be to let them have whatever they want.

Your exact quote was:

hell, you're one of the specific people I thought of when I said "most of the people who seem the most adamant about having guns are usually the most scared"

And there's no chance a homeless person carries a gun

You're a scared little man cacman. And you don't occupy any space in my head... except as an example of a particularly weak human being ... you're the one who follows me around a cigar forum pretending you are making cogent arguments.

I just do a quick forum search and point out your own words....
