So wife just told me when she was in the car with the boy he asked her to play "a song called time. Just time, no other words. It starts all kinds of crazy ringing sounds"

Spose there's worse things.

But I'm ready for a new 500 that doesn't get into my head as much.

Campground weather forecast keeps getting colder and colder.

High for the weekend of 59, low 34.

When I booked it, it was high of 72 and low 45.

Truck bed is full to the rails with firewood, I think we'll use it all.

Well... mainly I want some heads up on the intruders.

Transmission went out in the truck.

Some helpful dudes at the campground helped get the camper in, since I don't have reverse now. Was stuck in 1st gear going forward.

Not sure what to do.

I think maybe tomorrow try to limp the truck home unloaded and borrow a truck to go back down to get the camper. Not sure if I take wife boy n dogs or leave em at the campsite in case I end up needing a tow.

Lots of dropped balls on this trip.

Forgot my cast iron skillet.

Forgot my grill tools.

This is why I always go somewhere close first time out. Could have towed the truck to transmission shop, could run home for supplies. 3 hours from home is not ideal for all of this.

Saw them once. Waikiki Shell, 1970. Taj Mahal was on the bill too but called in sick. Dunno if the Chambers Brothers played longer than normal but they put on a great show.

Not much. Hard to relax with the black cloud over my head.

Had a few beers, smoking a cigar, warm campfire, and puppy dog. It helps a little, but the 6 hour road trip to swap trucks tomorrow is weighing me down. And that's if everything goes well. If I need to call for a tow... I don't know. Really don't have a plan B.

I did consider dropping it off at a dealership 5 miles away, and buy a few extra nights at the campground until it's fixed but wife doesn't want the boy to miss anymore school.

Could be worse.

Just wish I had a better plan. Not sure what it would be though. I just hate not being in control of the situation. I always have a plan B, and preferably C.

Plus I had a suspicion this was coming. Should've done something about it beforehand.
