NO, AND they don't even make 'em like that anymore! Those things are electricity hogs, though. My brother was wondering why his electric bill was SO HIGH, a few years ago. I told him that he should try some troubleshooting with unplugging and NOT using a couple of old TV's for a month. He was blown away at how much less the bill was when it came in.
Where we live, this County electric CO-OP is operated under TVA, and we not only have net-metering, but also a system of paying called "PAygo". YOU keep a small amount of money in the account, and add more before it gets to zero, otherwise, your lights will get turned off at 10am, the next morning. You can look at usage on a thirty minute basis, pretty handy! I changed EVERY lightbulb out in this giant sucker to LED a month or so after we bought it. Cheapest house EVER! Lots of insulation, and pretty well made except for the cheap ass windows. During the winter months and spring and fall, I can run this place at 2 bucks and under some days!!! Now that's not counting the gas bill, but it's under a hundred as well!! Little different in the summer, what with a pool, and our terrible hot/humid days. Still can generally keep it around 5-6 bucks a day or less, and since the water heater is in the attic, my gas bills are all under 20 bucks a month.
