I don't disagree and also think there should be testing and verification they don't lock the virus in, but that's a level of forethought and planning I don't see often

Reason I'm walking instead of running is my knees. Most of my walks when not on trails is a 3 mile long equestrian trail near my house. Almost never see a horse use it.

running wrecked my knees too...live in an area where I'd have to drive some distance to walk on some trails, so I'm pounding the pavement...sometimes I'll walk on the grassy strips next to the streets, but the surface can be uneven

I've said from the beginning, I think one of the good things about this virus situation will be a lot of families realizing they don't need 2 incomes... It costs a preposterous amount of money and time and does irreversible damage to kids for both parents to work outside of the house...

What are you talking about? I'd love to have Opie around the house all day. Dude can cook, makes wicked desserts and he knows a bunch about growing herb(s).

Nevermind the rockfish jig creations...

Took a nap on the couch while the boy played videogames sitting on top of me.

Dreamed of 300yd rifle ranges and sporting clays shootin.

I usually stay home, not one to socialize, but now that the weather's getting nicer that's one thing I really really miss.

Went out on the deck with my Henry rifle and rung the farthest plates at about 100yds. It's not the same, but scratched the itch for now.

I ran distance for 40 years (over 50K miles) and never had a problem with my knees until I started playing pickelball. Torn miniscus caused my knee issues. If you ware good running shoes, keep them built up to compensate for your gait caristeristics and stay off sidewalks the knees are fine. Friggin' pickleball.

my patellas were congenitally misaligned, which caused cartilage damage...orthopedic doc told me early on, at about 30 years old, I should give up running and tennis...I ignored him until about age 50, when the pain from running stopped that...played tennis until knee replacement surgery 10 years ago, age 56...can't fix a hard head...

I used to run in the off season to stay in shape for high school hoops. Hated every second of it (the running that is). Probably would have kept it up, but my basketball career came to a tragic end when I realized there wasn't much demand for a 6'2" center in college.

Before we get close to Zanyville, I make a motion that the winner of the 500 thread has less than 15 minutes to name and start the next 500.

Ram?
Frank?
Drafter?

I’d think two votes For would carry the day.

Faithfully submitted, today. Douglas Neidermier.

(Bows, snaps heels, does Jazz Hands, leave the podium).

anyone knowingly posting the winner should have something sweet ready to roll.

Question though: If the 15min time limit is not met, does the responsibility then fall on post #499?

So much pressure. Think I'll just take a dive if it comes down to it.

Got into running around ‘76 or ‘77 to get into shape for tennis. Dad bought me a pair of Nike running shoes with leather tops. Wore two pairs out. Continued to run, got goaded into running the ‘82 Honolulu Marathon and caught the running “fever” for a couple years. Plantar fasciitis due to overtraining in wrong shoes ended that phase of my life.
