Morning gents

Took our Australian cattle dog to the vet yesterday and got some bad news . He has fluid built up in his chest cavity and has a couple of tumors in there also. He has been having this cough and we have been back and forth to the vet probably 4 times . They are giving him lasix to they and get some of the fluid out of his chest cavity.

Hope the doggy is OK Corey.

AC guys are here tearing out the old unit and replacing it. Sounds like a train wreck occurring in the attic space.

Sorry to hear about the pup Corey.

A little warm again today about 87/110. This will be about the 10th day in a row of 110 or more. I'm a patient man but this is starting to make me homesick. So far no monsoon which usually starts about early July. Not even a haboob to be seen.

Apparently my vacation was canceled.... still getting PM's.... I've got a list of order numbers now. What is happening over at the mothership? Gotta admit, it's made me laugh. I almost respect Corey now.

So it's my 7th anniversary today and I think I have to tell my wife it's time to get divorced after everything we have been through, 3 kids, all the good times. I can't believe it myself, the nerve of her. I was gonna make a filet mignon dinner and have shrimp for an appetizer. Well anyways, she calls me after I get off work and asks me "can you stop and get A1 sauce for me tonight?" Ugh! Fricken women! I just can't right now. It's FILET MIGNON!!! COME ON!!

Didn't do much today. Very humid.

Picked up some beer, went to inlaws for a bit, dads camper gas line project on hold for special order fittings.

Drove around the yard with the star aerator and dumped another two buckets worth of grass seed. Sposeda rain, so figured it would be a good time for that.

If the rain holds off for a while, gonna grill burgers.

Unpopular opinions: I love the taste of A1 with a good steak and filets are the worst cut of steak...

OK, it's 84 in the house. The AC guys keep saying they are "almost ready to turn the system on"...

I hope this wasn't all a ruse to get me nice and sweaty for their pleasure... Too hot to conceal carry in my own house.

I actually like filet. If I were to eat a chunk of beef (and not pay for it) it would be a filet. But I dont prefer beef, hate the texture. A filet is less steaky, more melty.

For sure filet is the worst VALUE (...’cause it’s highly overpriced...) but as a cut, it ain’t bad.

took the woman and dog on a bike ride today.

Dude at the rental place was not thrilled to see we had carried a dog in the kid trailer.

Ah well. Just told him to charge me a cleaning fee.

Kids at in-laws. Hit Menards with the wife. Couldn't decide where to eat. So, it was Qdoba, local sushi, then local ice cream shop. Ate outside at all places. Nice to get out.

Talk about humid!!!

This afternoon at 4 to around 4:20 while I was mowing the small backyard, heat index was 105, it's still 84 with a heat index of 93, TOO DAMN HOT! West Tn is as bad as South FL in the summer.

Sure seems to be everywhere nowadays. Even in the Country, folks will be on the wrong sided of the road in a curve and all sorts of stupid stuff!

I gotta admit I did suffer a little road rage at one point but I backed off.. a honda car cut me off and I rode their bumper up to 100 mph and I could tell they couldn't go any faster... I backed off.. pretty sure I made my point... not sure what the point was tho...Mellow

Glad you had safe travels.

Let the azzwholes be azzwholes. Toot the horn but leave it at that. You're not going to change their behavior, but they can change yours if you let them and nobody wins. Like wrasslin a pig. You get muddy and the pig likes it.

Rain lightened up, going out in the woods with my headlamp on and a thatching rake to rough up some of the super hard clay and toss some seed on. Ive run my towables over those spots but its like scratching stone. Its 2330 but fuggit, I'm back to work tomorrow and there's not been much rain lately. Last chance I got till Sunday.

Then next week my inlaws are moving up here, about 10mi away. Got $10k off to not sod the back yard (only about a half acre at most). Told brother in law I could do it with 100-150lbs of seed and equipment I already own. Hell, we could sod it ourselves for about 2k, and could hire a landscape crew to level and sod for like 4k. Definitely worth saying no on the lawn to the builder.

But he's planning on doing a fence right away, and an inground pool next year and a custom paver patio and stuff so I recommended doing a halfass lawn for now and can hire out a landscape crew to resod after the pool and patio and stuff. Not worth spending 10k on a lawn you're gonna tear up. I did 1 acre when we moved in and regraded a huge part of the land, starting from clay i got a lawn with 150lbs of seed ($180). If i put in more labor could do it with 100lbs easy. Did spend about $1k on a few pull behind tools but my landscaping buddy said he'd be $3.5k to seed and water/monitor daily till it took and that was 10 years ago so im sure it'd be more today.
