Considering a short trip to Orlando in mid-April.

I’m not alone in trying to guess if that is a good idea with all of the variables in place.

I am in Orlando and will answer or find the answers for whatever you want. If you'd like recommendations, I could do that too.

Worked a killer car deal yesterday for my son. He turned in his 2018 Accords for a brand new 2020 model with zero down and just $227 per month . a new lease. We got credit for our equity in his car too. $227 a month is all. That is $83 less than I was paying on his 2018 old car.Sarcasm

Trying to work a similar deal for my mom for a CRV. I doubt I will be able to do as well again. Her car has a scuff or two that she doesn't want to repair before turning/trading it in. She might owe them $1k to walk away without any hassle. Maybe they will wash it out in the trade. She is already going to get $800 credit for the maintenance and tires she put into the vehicle a few weeks ago! Sweet.

She's 82 and wants to close the deal, perhaps today. I have been trying to talk to her about buying her current 2016, but we have found the best CRV deal over the last 1.5 years. And she wants a new car. She's never had a car with leather so I might talk her into it if there won't be much of a difference in the price.

These deals are from Honda Finance, so we don't have to screw around playing the negotiation game, but, if we did, she worked there for 20yrs. and they treat her like family. Now the big question is how could all possibly work? HONDA SALES ARE DOWN 28% THIS YEAR.Angel

Can't go wrong with a Honda. My wife, son and I put 230k miles on an '02 Civic from new to scrap heap. Well... I'm assuming it went to scrap. It still ran, but the main bearing was leaking and it'd cost more to fix it than the car was worth. Dealer gave us $1,500 for it. It either went to auction or to the scrapper. *shrug*

Honda, IMHO, is about as good of a safe, quality car as there is for the money. I have had oldsmobile, dodge, mazda, buick, 2 toyotas, nissan and probably 4 volvos over the years. Love me volvos, but alas the ones we'd want are too expensive. Great deals, but still to expensive.

Yeah, he is a bit peeved at me today. We usually get in a good, long walk or at least a few fetch sessions and tug of war in the back yard. My yard is small, though... he needs lots of exercise.

I did some training with the sit, down, leave it alone, go on your bed, and calling his name, using his kibble as treats. He loves the costco dog food... frickin inhales it. Not food aggressive, doesn't care if you touch him or remove the bowl from him. Has a serious "hang dog, sad puppy eyes" look whenever you've got food and he doesn't... little bassturd.

I'm trying to train him and frickin spoiling him rotten at the same damn time. Brick wall

Al, although I'm comfortable... staying a couple more years would have been smarter. I'm a little more limited in how much extra cash I can throw at the house, now. Would have been smarter for me to pay that off, first... but what's done is done. I'm okay. Tank is a blessing and a pain in my ass all at once! I'm hoping I can weather the storm until he mellows out and doesn't need to be worked so much.

go to a hallway close all the doors and take a ball/rope and some treats....sit down at the open end...you don't want him to get out of the hall or past you.

have him sit next to you...have him stay...toss the ball....have him stay...then tell him fetch...as he comes back to you just say "come". Once he is back to you say "drop it" if he doesn't drop the ball entice with treats to release the ball...at some point toss the ball and have him stay...you go get the ball. This is to teach him that he only moves when you say and not to chase on instinct.

only give a few treats your wanting his actual reward to ween off food and to petting/scratching behind the ears.

another good one for their security is to teach them to leave stuff that is dropped on the floor...using his food have him sit and set it down between you two...take a step back..if he moves say leave it and restart...if a few steps away say leave it and step forward to take back control of the food...ask to sit...if he doesn't restart.

get to where you can walk away about four to five steps...then tell him what ever command you want. If at any point he stands up restart. if he lays down that is him going ok i wil stay until i cannot resist the urge...which is fine

if he constantly wants to get to the food...stand between him and the food till he sits and stays...then step back to straddle the food...then one step further back and so on.

now when you drop your chocolate candy on the floor he might walk over towards it but if you say leave it he won't eat it.

Every year is getting shorter never seem to find the time.
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
The time is gone, the song is over,
Thought I'd something more to say.

Got my custom (off the shelf "custom") subwoofer box for the truck in the mail today. Listing said 2012-2018 Ram quad cab box. The box I received said 2002-2012 Ram quad cab box... I filed for a return and printed the label, going back tomorrow. Didn't even open it, though the reviews say it will fit. But to make it fit you gotta unbolt the seats and make 1" risers and bolt em back in. I'm not doing that unless I absolutely have to. I'll make my own before then.

Not many options available premade at a decent price, I think I'm gonna have to tap into my memory bank from 20 years back and cast in place some fiberglass sheets to make my own. Most of them do require raising the rear seat. So, that's the plan now. Cast in place a fiberglass casting of the underseat storage box, epoxy/bolt it to a sheet of MDF and cut out holes for the subwoofers. I figure if I'm putting in the effort, I'm going to put in another sub. Was gonna do single 10 leftover from my old Chevy, but I ordered a second one and gonna double up.

Even if I had a higher trim level, I'd be putting in my own system.

Factory may sound great, and surprisingly I'm not disappointed with my tradesman trim factory stereo. It's got 3.5's in the dash, 6x9's in the doors. Doesn't rattle the ground, but it does ok for what it is. I like to build systems that require earplugs at half volume, something I can broadcast a concert from. My Chevy we used at a trackday for nighttime movie. Projector onto a garage door, 3.5aux cable to my truck with the doors open and windows down. Worked well.

I'm going to do 6.5" components in the front doors with the tweeters taking up the 3.5" dash spots, and probably just an upgraded 6x9 in the rear. I don't care as much about rear stage as much as front. In my Chevy I had a 2 channel amp for the fronts, I'm going straight off the head unit this time around. Bought a high powered head unit, it's 45w rms 100w max x 4. Simplifies a lot of issues. But depending on the gauge of the factory wiring, I may still have to run wires for the speakers, which is a huge pain but necessary if pushing that much wattage.

Got 2 JL Audio 10TW3 subwoofers to go under the rear seats. There's a non removable storage bucket under the rear bench. Gonna cast the box into there with a 3/4" MDF cap. The super shallow subs will let me keep them well under the seat.

This is looking more like a summer project and not a now project since it's a huge hassle to fit the truck in my garage. Might toss the head unit in, but that's it.

My guy has always told me we are in it for the long term returns. I stuck with it all the way (with a few adjustments here and there) and feel very fortunate that I not only took his advice, but I didn't even have the temptation to call him when things collapsed earlier this year. Rode it out and we are fine. Thank God!

Working the day shift today so I can ring in the new year. I'm gonna try to nap when I get home so I can stay awake. The wife and I normally throw a party for NYE, we started 9 years ago and we keep adding people each year. We normally have about 35 people over on NYE, it started with 7 of us. Our NYE parties have became a huge thing in our group that we do. Tons of food and normally Nikki is cooking all day and making sides and dips. She still made some but making much smaller portions. Also not buying shrimp this year since it would just be mainly for me. I'm use to buying 5lbs of it. It also is 3 years ago that I lost one of my closest friends to her fight with cystic fibrosis, we all start out the party with a shot of whiskey for her since it was her go to thing. Tomorrow is my my best friends birthday so we always party until the early morning with him. Tonight won't be the same with out having people over tons of foods and music. We are gonna do what we can and set up a Video chat with a few of the closet of the group and do it that way. Let's hope we can resume normal parties for next year.

Yessir... I actually moved a little more of the 457b into the market after the collapse at the start of the year. Rode that beotch up. Leaving it alone for now.

Wife and I have no plans. Last few years we've been relatively chill and rang in the new year sober, with no hangover... usually fast asleep before the bell tolls. fog

I built a wall and painted it with a projector paint from Sherwin Williams many years ago when I bought a HD projector for the basement. Projector died, and I've just had the TV on a stand in front of that wall. New TV doesn't fit on the stand. Initially I was gonna just modify the stand to fit the TV, but I decided to buy a wall mount instead. So I've been messing with that this morning. Got it all bolted up on one stud (center line is a stud, didn't want to offset) but I put some weight on the mount and the wall flexed a bit, so I'm remounting to straddle two studs which forces the TV offset a bit. Only 3" but it's gonna bother me that it's not centered.

When this is done I'll get back to soldering the harness to adapter harness for the new truck head unit. Maybe toss that in the truck later today. Was gonna wait till I had everything so I don't have to take the dash apart a second time but the full install isn't gonna happen till it's warm outside so fuggit.

Fish market for 2lbs. of crab meat for crab cakes. Publix for a few little things like chips and dip and heavy cream for fresh whipped cream. Costco for berries, apple pie, fresh bread, steaks, chicken wings, ribs and salmon. Gonna eat some shrimp cocktail and watch my son fire up the BGE. We have enough food to last thru the next week.

Good afternoon and Happy New Year Eve!

Mrs. 363 and I will be at home watching a little TV, probably with our eyes closed as the clock strikes midnight. However if I'm awake I will be launching a few aerial salutes to welcome in 2021. (I can hardly wait to hear the litany of noise complaints on our neighborhood page tomorrow.)

New Year's Eve is also my wife's birthday, so I'll be busy as usual cooking her a birthday dinner...she asked for surf and turf, the same as she wanted for the past few years...NY steaks this year instead of ribeye or filet mignon....for some reason, she's not fond of filet mignon...

she was nostalgic for NY steaks because that was the popular cut back in the day when we first met and went out for dinner on special occasions...then, surf and turf was NY steak and lobster... we had ribeyes and lobster the last two years...she wants shrimp scampi this year..

I'll stir fry some veggies and make a pot of rice...daughter bringing German Chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream for dessert...libations are bottle of champagne and some tequila...wife might have some champagne, but doesn't touch the tequila, which is for our SIL...I may throw caution to the wind and have a few sips of each...hope my doctor doesn't see this...

He got RSO, four 1/8ths of different strains and crumble. Got to figure out the crumble thing since you said not to use it to top off a bowl of flower (like I used to do with hash back way back in college)

BTW, remember my kid's test of all the ****-ton, brown leftovers from his vaporizer? He was right. He made canna-butter that my wife used to bake 40 cookies. Kid said he did the numbers, but I don't know what he came up with. I'd like something more concentrated like your fudge.

hippie dab it! or get yourself a little quartz bucket, dab rig, and dab torch...

the fudge was kid of a bust for me... I liked them but couldn't eat enough to get an effect... not a good fudge to thc ratio...

I'm bubble hashing a full blue cream plant this weekend if I can get ahold of some dry ice... that's the real stuff... no solvent, high thc, and you can smoke it in a bowl or dab it...
