One good thing of dry forced hot air heat in the winter (crazy dry air) is an opened bag of chips doesn't go stale.

Wait.... some people open a bag and don't finish them?

Happy Saturday gents. Day three of resurfacing the pool deck. Should be able to use the back patio again soon.

33 and rain.
How nice to have it warm enough to have rain.
We've had sleet, freezing rain, wintry mix. But straight up rain? Nope.
Don't have to shovel rain.

Cabinet day went alright. Wife is happy with the progress and choices made. Countertops next week.

Pike's Peak coffee. Blueberry english muffins with blueberry jelly from a local producer. Which is as close to hipster I ever plan to be.

Got totally ripped off by the car rental place on toll charges

The airport sucks jolly green **** sticks

The traffic is ridiculous

However when we were there in October the only complaint was the humidity

I have a sunpass for the toll roads. If you don't, and use the rental company toll system you're gonna get bent over hard. Learned my lesson.

MCO is one of my least favorite airports. TPA on the other hand is one of the easiest I've been through.

Might be our last tourist trip down here. We were talking about it last night we need to go to new places. I want to head down DEDs way next. Hike at Sedona, see grand canyon, etc. Never been out that way.

Think you would really enjoy it around March time frame. Besides the things you listed in March you can take in a Cactus League MLB game anywhere in greater Phx/Scottsdale/Mesa. There are usually 15 teams going every day (cept this year due to the lockout)

No toll roads
Traffic moves about 65-75 unless ya get behind ison
Typical high is 70-80 range
Day trip to Prescott and DED's mountain home?

And an easy airport to navigate. Been to AZ probably five times? Would go back again.

Boy is it blazing frankin' hot in the summer, though... d'oh!

Mornin' dudes. Dog walked and fed. He's on a hunger strike because I didn't put sardines in his kibble. That'll last until early afternoon, maybe. He gets hungry waiting for me to put the sardines in there and then finally realizes it ain't happening.

Dogs are sposta be smart, right? Why hasn't he figured out; sometimes you get 'em... sometimes ya don't. Just eat, fugger.

Dogs seem smart as well as forever hopeful…as in they’re hopeful that their human remembers to give them the food / treat that they had yesterday. Drool

Error yesterday when I said You Don’t Have To Shovel Rain.

Backyard buried under about four inches of ice. When there is that much ice, the drain from the area nearest the house doesn’t…… drain.

Actually, when it is pinned up against the house, it will drain. … into the basement.

24 gallons of bailing at 10:30 pm with a moderate whisky buzz was NOT the plan.

No damage to the basement other than a few trickles through the wall.

Good Sunday Morning! It's a sunny 74° morning with clouds on the way to 83° today.

I would be grouchy doing taxes, staying up late last night with a clogged toilet, then waking up to several baskets/bags of vitamins, hair products, and who knows what spread all over the bathroom and tub. Apprently the drain, started leaking under my wife's bathroom sink so she pulled out all the stuf she had crammed under the sink. Now I get to fix the drain and do the taxes. On the bright side, I'm living in the USA and not the Ukraine.

depending on its temperature, water weighs about 8.3lbs per gallon.
Also weighs more than ice.
Bet you're not surprised.

Hey Guys,
Daughter and boyfriend still in town 'till later this afternoon. Gave him a huge bundle of Cuban cigars for his birthday present. He's shell-shocked. It was a massive hit, even on cbid scale. Half his head is blown off. LOL!
Watching MU v MC. 2-1. It's half-time.
Going to REI store with son in a bit so he can buy climbing shoes.
Then, taking the rest of the day and evening off.

One coyote on the hillside, sunning himself. Had to really be looking to see the little bastige... I saw him, Tank did not.

Wind blowing slightly toward the coyote so he didn't smell him, either. Who's a good boy? Keep walkin'... nothin' to see here...

Hit 50° with clear skies and a nice breeze here in north central MA. Took in a nice little walk to get some fresh air. There's nice walking trail through some woods around a small lake just 10 minutes outside my door, its about a 2 mile loop.

Today is my Saturday. Friend from VA is due to show up around 3:00 today. Gonna do up some chicken cordon bleu for supper tonight. I've been craving it for the past couple of days. Other than that... laundry, homework, and a nap in no particular order. Likely timeline is laundry and nap while machine does the work. Cook, eat, nap. Then few hours of homework with a freshly rested mind and body culminating with system shut down for the night.

Tomorrow menu is St. Louis cut pork ribs in the crock pot and a couple of NY strip steaks.

Ran into my kids' old Nintendo DS's while rifling through some boxes of computer parts. I almost forgot about these things. Probably spend some time getting them up and running again. With a flash card you can load up a $hit ton of game ROMs. I think I have like 700 ROMs sitting in a folder on an old laptop.

It will require some spelunking and time travel to find where I have saved all the "hack a DS" stuff.

Technically it weighs the same no matter what phase of matter it's in (solid, liquid, gas). It's the density that changes.

Water has a neat, but rather basic, phase diagram with a triple point (where solid, liquid, and gas are in equilibrium) right around the freezing point. If you freeze it and pull a vacuum on it, it will sublime - go straight from ice to vapor without going through the liquid phase. When things are freeze dried, this is what they are talking about.

Water is an amazing material. Luckily the solid state is less dense than the liquid state (ice floats) otherwise all of our lakes, streams, rivers, ponds and oceans in the in the northern and southern latitudes would likely be absence of life as we know it.

If ice sank, all bodies of water in the northern and southern latitudes would freeze solid in the winter and likely wouldn't thaw out during the summer.

All hail the water Gods!

I'm glad I got hit with an unplanned near-emergency remodel of our "old" bathroom last year. If not, it still wouldn't have been done.

I actually preferred that it happened that way because my planned projects take me forever. Urgent repairs I tend to see through start to finish. Non urgent things like that I lose interest, plans are open and constantly change. I spent 5 years building our 2nd bathroom. This one took me about 3 months.

I need to do the kitchen, but that really needs to be fully planned out with cabinets, flooring, sink, etc in hand before I start doing any demo. It's the last room in the house with no exterior insulation.
