Took the day off today along with my closest friend of 40+ years to celebrate (late) our mutual 50th b-days. Good guns, good food and good cigars. As kids we lived down the street from each other back east, and now half a century later and 3000 miles across the country, we still live down the street from each other.

I peeked into an X in late 2016 but the monthly lease was more than my car allowance so hadda pass. Would have loved to have taken one out for a test drive but didn’t want to waste anyone’s time.

Surprisingly easy to drive. About a 3 minute tutorial and off I went. And we all know I'm not that smirt, smort, smart.

That's so awesome... and happy birthday. I had some buddies growing up and we planned on living near and raising our kids together. 3 of us joined the Navy and went all different directions. d'oh!

And happy birthday to you and your bestie.

Thanks Gents! The birthdays were back in August, but with his and my schedule, kids, etc. we didn't get a chance to get together properly until yesterday. Went to a new indoor range I had not been to before, had a very nice lunch and a couple of great smokes.

We have been friends since we were five living down the street from each other in RI, and I am pretty sure his parents (who also moved across the country country and live down the street from me now) claimed me as a dependant on their taxes for a few years. I have an actual brother, but I am closer to this friend, and we often refer to each other as brothers (not in a "bro" way).

I honestly consider myself truly blessed to have a lifelong very close friend that I get to hang out with regularly as adults, our kids go to the same school, we go to the same synagogue, etc.

Just woke up as i am taking it easy today.
Can't wait until surgical recovery is complete. Will probably take six months in all, but I have my six-week check-up with neurosurgeon Friday. Hope to get cleared to smoke a cigar and start swimming again! But, I am realistic and don't have my hopes amped up.

THIS...is the best time to be in Florida! Open up the house, kill the AC and get a firepit.

Good Wednesday Morning! It's just 33° on the way to 62° today, I have long pants on, but I'm still in flip flops, I will wear shoes and socks to the range today.

Oh, and thank you very much to the person(s) that invented Maxalt/Rizatriptan for migraines.

Much better here today. Currently 38 might get to 46. Still cloudy but no blustery winds or rain. Appreciation for a non wet October day.

Agreed!!

I always know when the weather has changed for the better when I turn on the cold water in the sink and cold water comes out...

So, there is a lot of talk about kids identifying as cats or dogs “furries”, and this is hilarious. 😂. Imagine if you can, that one of my boys told me they thought they were a cat?
Sitting at the supper table son says: “Dad, I think I’m a cat!
Dad: “No son, you’re a boy! “
My son: “No dad some of my friends at school identify as cats, they call themselves furries, and so do I !! It’s my right and you can’t do anything about it!”
Dad: 🤔 “OK!! “
My son: “Hey, where’s my supper? “
Dad: “Your supper is in the catfood bowl in the corner. Now get off the table you mangy cat!”
My son: “What???”
Dad: hits him with a broom, “get off the table furball!!”
My son in the corner looking bewildered!
Me to my wife : “Is that cat neutered”??
My wife: “I will make an appointment!! “
My son: “What??? “ 😳
Dad: “Your mother and I have decided we don’t want a house cat, so get out to the barn and hunt mice!”
My son: “What???”
Dad: brandishes broom, “NOW, to the barn you stupid cat!!”
My son: “Dad, I think I’m a boy!”
Dad: “I thought so, now sit down and eat your supper!!”
Spay and neuter these animals. Stop them from reproducing. Today’s society has enough fruit loops already.
End of story!

Last I talked to the dealership they said "we confirmed the trans slip, just waiting on approval from warranty dept to start"

Today they called "can't replicate any trans issue, but you do have a bad oxygen sensor that's $500 we can fix it today just call us back"

I called and sat on hold for 18 minutes before I gave up. I'm just gonna have to drive there tomorrow.

LOL. That is hilariously ironic!
Now, he needs a patio outside one of the porch doors. Or, a deck. For grilling, smoking, fire pit, lounge chairs and just hanging out...

Today's high was just 68F! This set 50-100 year record lows, but I'll take it.
My dues for a year are paid too.

Yin and Yang day so far.

The morning was beautiful although a tad humid. Blue skies, wispy clouds at best then the rain clouds rolled in just before noon and big rain poured down. Wet weather predicted for the next couple days.
