Had a very uneasy weird experience today.. I've had many dozens of manicures over the years... but today was the first by a dude.. never again... worst of all he did a crappy job.. I did not allow him to do the normal lotion massage thing that I look forward to... I prolly woulda been an a-hole I guess if I'd refused and insisted a woman do it.. but never again..Not talking

Wait, you do manicures?

I just do nail clippers. Ok, ok,,. I will admit that when my daughter was young we did to in home manicures and nail painting, glitter "tatoos," paint my back with washable Crayola markers tea "parties" and stuff.

We didn't do official manicures though. Maybe I'm missing out.

You are. Next time you’ve got an hour to spare grab a frozen daiquiri and hit a nail spa. Nothing more relaxing than having someone do your feet.

First time I had it done the girl had to get out the cheese grater and knock down the callouses on my heels after my feet had soaked in some water just this side of too damned hot. Then she clipped the nails, massaged my feet and calves. Afterwards she stuck my feet in plastic bags filled with paraffin wax and then she finished by rubbing lotion all over my feet and calves. Pure bliss I tell you. Make sure you tip her about $20. By the time she’s finished she will have worked up a sweat.

Oh, don’t let the thought of the cheese grater scare you. By the time your feet finish soaking the callouses are nice and soft. Since there’s no nerves in them you really don’t feel much except a dull back and forth tugging sensation.

Weird hap'nins around here. Currently 62 and forecast is to get colder as the day goes on and be 41 tomorrow morning. Should prolly get the walk in real early.

I bite my fingernails and I cut the 7 toenails that grow with a sidesnips. That's the end of my hand/foot care. Spose I do use a special surgical scrub brush/sponge combo boy at work gojo or goop at home

Had a manicure/pedicure ONCE when I was much younger. Got an ingrown toenail after it and I never did another.

I have a small leather case with fingernail/toenail clippers and a file. I keep my nails trimmed myself.

If I do decide to ever try it again... no dudes.

Mornin Ya'll... a Brisk 14 degree's this mornin.. Herfing

Busy day, sold my Lincoln and the folks are coming to get it today, then this afternoon heading over to pick up 36 bundles of Owens Corning Duration shingles for our shop roof for $11 bucks a bundle mix and match colors but saving about $16 a bundle on them... we have a hip roof 4 sided, so I'm going to have to figure in sq. footage per side on color match when I purchase the remaining squares needed to finish to roof, next week headed to Paris MO to pick up 40 sheets of 5/8" OSB at $15 bucks a sheet... still projecting the woodshop up and running by end of April first of May timeframe... I don't even like to see talk of those temperatures, makes me cold just looking. Finally starting to warm up here 35/60 and sunny today and expect 70s next week.

Just realized that the late game is only on Peacock. d'oh!

Same falling temps here.

Snow should be done in the next 90 minutes. Total snow over the last 26 hours is 13.5 inches.

Have a small window to get it all moved as the temps start falling by noon.

Then, the real struggle begins. The Cold.

So you're not dead yet. That's a good thing. We could make a Monty Python skit out of this.

Peacock is only $6/month (but it does have some adds, no adds version is about $12/month). There's an alternate solution. Peacock allows up to 3 devices to stream at the same time. My TV will be one using it during that time so there are still two devices available. PM sent.

Windy and rainy morning here. Rain is predicted to clear up after lunch. Don't matter to me. Gots some laundry to do, run some errands, hook up a new printer for a friend, pay some bills & other domestic stuff while watching some football.

Prolly do grilled chicken Caesar Salad for supper and thaw out some steaks for tomorrow. Need to make another batch of chili. That will be a tomorrow crock pot thingy while watching some more football.

I also predict a cat nap or two this weekend. I have Great Expectations and like to set the bar pretty high.

Snow shoveled, grocery run done, fixed the iced over chicken coop door, and started filling in the known info for taxes. I had to fill out some tax form for the state of California when I worked for Gridlife out there, not sure if I'm going to have to file taxes in CA or just IL since Gridlife is based in Chicago but we all know how much CA likes their tax money. Logged into my ADP account hoping to get some insight but there isn't even pay history listed in there. Guess I just gotta wait n see what paperwork I get in the mail.

Bought ingredients to make jambalaya. Had a bunch of chicken leg quarters in the freezer that's pushing a year old now and a pound of shrimps leftover from Christmas. Wife n boy will only eat chicken tiddies and won't eat shrimps so I'll just make a big pot and bring it to work to share.

Really don't feel like cooking right now heck I don't feel like doing anything at all. I would love to head to the garage with a cigar but can't do that for 7 more days. I maybe smoke 1-2 a month normally but every year when the blood n piss tests come that's ALL I want to do when I know I can't. Could easily go 3 weeks without otherwise but since I know I can't that's all I wanna do.

Sounds like you got an amateur. Do yourself a favor and try it again. But like you said, no dudes.

Once had a dude come to my chair in Amarillo to do my feet. Told him thanks, but no thanks as I’d rather have one of the ladies do it. He said I’d have to wait. Told him no problem. I just ran the chair massager until one of them became available.

Take it little by slow. The human body has a wonderful way of fixing itself (to a certain degree).

Took the kids out for teppan yaki tonight. They had a great time but damn that was some of the least flavorful meat I have ever had... the shrimp was fine but the beef had zero flavor. I wasn't expecting much besides the show, but that food was so mediocre and pricey... Not rushing back anytime soon

That sucks. Gonna be 43/64 here so out early for a walk. Plan on taking the '65 out for a spin later and watching a little football.

Hey Danm,

Question for you at the intersection of Circulation and Hot Sauce.

Am thinking about carrying a bottle of hot sauce with me on Monday and Tuesday. Will be spending a fair amount of time outside and have crap circulation.

Would taking hits of hot sauce through the day help warm me? I’m even good with a placebo effect.

Thoughts?

30° ish here. Windchill makes it feel like 25°. Kinda overcast and we might get a couple inches of snow. No plans on going outside. Plan is do some cooking, watch some football and clean up the kitchen as a result of cooking.

W-2s and other tax stuff is starting to come in so I'll have to consolidate those for easy access when it's time to file taxes. My goal each year is to owe nothing nor get anything back nothing - get as close to $0.00 each way on the year end taxes.

Dog walk at 0730 was chilly in da 40's. Currently 52. Had a 2 egg spinach, mushroom and sausage scramble with a l'il Frank's red hot and an English muffin. Chicken tenders and broccoli for later. Might just stay in PJ's and work on the butt groove in my recliner today.

Every other day gym schedule for now. Give myself time to rest, aside from the daily dog walk. BP and HR are perfect lately. Still feel a little "off" sometimes... *shaddup ya bastids* d'oh!

Try it. Sometimes when I overdo it I'll take my hat and jacket off and stand on the deck to "cool off" but I don't feel like it does anything to actually make me warmer. Definitely doesn't help my hands and feet. Those are cold pretty much year round until the temp is over 85.

Similar response to alcohol. Feels warm because it increases bloodflow to the skin but also increases sweating. May ultimately make things worse.
