Just made pizza dough for a deep dish pizza for dinner. Kinda a Giordanos copy without the second crust. I may reverse the cheese and toppings this time which would be more like Gino’s or Lou Malnati’s with a Giordano’s crust.

That sounds good.

Got all of the riding/push mowing done. Took around 3 hours, and that's with my wife helping me, and without weedeating.

I was on the LT50 and she was on that old 2003 Cub Cadet 1515. Together that's 88 inches worth of mowing deck and it still took that long...

Over the winter I forgot how big this yard is....

Over and out.

hmm... ketchup doesn't sound good to me. I like a little shoyu and wasabi with my solo avocado. It reminds of a tofu I used to like from a place in Japan I don't remember the name of. It was like a dumpling sized tofu with a wasabi center. Soo good.

Finally remembered to try eating an avocado with shoyu and wasabi. Not bad. Might alternate between ketchup and the shoyu / wasabi. Thanks PW. ThumpUp

Went to the shpo. Had a double Maker's cask strength to go along with an LFD andalusian bull. Also took home a Fuente SG and had an old fashioned to follow the maker's.

Then another old fashioned when I got home with an Undercrown SG (thanks, whistle).

Now... lotsa water and some tv.

Haircut done. Thinking of shaving my beard off. Haven't been clean shaved since 20-21 when I was forced to be.

I can grow a mean beard. It's all white. However, it's all itchy and scratchy and it just doesn't look good. I grew it out once for a month or two... wife didn't like it. Made me look old and she's older than me.

That's where I've been. I'm at the length where it's not itchy anymore, but not so long I need to care for it (I cut my hair with no guard on the clippers cause I don’t want to deal with upkeep)

But I don't know if using the clipper on my beard and scissor trimming every two weeks or so is more maintenance than running a razor over my face in the shower every day. Been a question I've not answered in 25 years of having facial hair. Clippers n scissors are cheaper tho

Grows decent in the goatee area but very patchy up the sides of my face. Regardless I prefer it. Wife doesn't. Luckily for her I've got respirator fit testing in less than a month, so I'll be baby faced for her again

Got another page out 45 minutes later. Same thing. At least 2nd one was canceled before I left the driveway.

If I was with a different preceptor I'd go in, hit the clock for both of those pages and go back home. It's a 2 hour minimum for a call in. Could've gotten paid 4 hours instead of just being awakened 4 hours early and doing nothing. Or I'd clock in/out for the first page, go upstairs to the outpatient area, lay down in one of their cots so I don't have to drive back home then could've clocked in/out for 2nd page without even driving back n forth.

My younger kid's pre-school is locking all the kids in the main social hall during the eclipse so they don't accidentally stare at the sun...

I reminded them that the kids go outside every other day and don't stare at the sun, but there was no convincing them...

In this day and age of litigation, better to be safe than sorry. Besides, the next one is in 2044 so all those kids will be (…or should be…) alive and will appreciate / understand it better when they’re adults.

You are right, but it seems very silly...

OTOH, I went to the courtyard of my office building to look through my $0.08 glasses and noticed a handful of adults looking at the eclipse with their bare eyes. I mean, they had their hand up to shade it a bit. FFS.

I shared the glasses.

Apparently when you experience a total eclipse, there are things that you only get to see in-person that you can’t pick up via a camera lens. Something about the wavelength of certain colors. I’mma sure it’s a super cool moment but I didn’t buy the winning PowerBall ticket so will hafta settle for the network coverage(s).

They did the right thing IMO.
No risk of a child that age getting injured.

A handful of folks and I went on the roof of the building at watched it for a few minutes. I bought a 12 pack of glasses so anyone that wanted to look and didn't have glasses could take a set. I think in my area of MA they said it was 93% covered. I thought it would be darker but it wasn't much different than a typical cloudy day. Not very exciting but hey, that level of blockage by the moon only happens once in a in lifetime my area.

You'd get 100% blockage if you were at the beach and some large person walked between you and the Sun.

Same % for my area too. I guess that last 7% really makes a difference.

I remember the 2017 eclipse being darker than this one. Idk if it was or I just remember it that way.

The colors of everything in the light during the eclipse are so bizarre, like outdoors is lit by artificial lights.

I did get to go outside briefly and see it.

Wife said she sat on the deck with my welding helmet on to watch it.

I caught a few minutes. Mostly just worked right through it and almost forgot.

A friend drove from Florida to Illinois to see it.

The colors is what struck me. Saw shades of blue and grays that I haven’t seen before. Was in DePere (south of and adjacent to GB) when the 85% hit. Was happily stuck in traffic. There were these five seagulls above the Fox River who stopped traveling in the direction they were heading and were treading air for a minute or two. Wonder how other animals reacted to this.

We witnessed the last one here in South Carolina. We drove out into the country away from city lights. it was pretty cool, a bit strange, but basically a huge shadow passing over us. The view of the sun's corona was interesting.

One thing for sure, we had zero inclination to travel westward to see it again.

Evening all. 95% totality was way overhyped. Not interesting at all. I saw a full one with glasses once, but I was in elementary school so I don't remember it

36-30 Connecticut at the half.

I don’t follow basketball too much so didn’t know Zach Edey is half Chinese. At 7’ 4”, shades of Yao Ming (…sort by…).

Took one for the team after dinner.

We need more room in our freezer so took a larger serving of Ben ‘n Jerry’s Coffee Toffee Bar Crunch ice cream. Didn’t want to finish it all tonight, saving the last bit for tomorrow.
