Jet till there is a difference between the two I will not feed the beast. Go ahead and participate in divisional politics and ensure entrenched power keeps its talons clenched in lady liberty.
I understand your sentiments though.
Been there for awhile.
Republicans, Democrats, Same **** Different Pile. The Republicans, will not reduce the amount of money spent on government, they just spend it differently. That is why Shrub, doubled the national debt, in his 8 years, 6 years of which, the Republicans controlled both the Senate and the House. So we will borrow the money, and kick the can farther down the road. While they dismantle Medicare, and Social Security, and spend every penny they saved there, on something else. They will cut taxes on the wealthy, and borrow more money to pay for the handouts to the oil and gas companies, the Military Industrial Complex, and the other special interests, who have bought and paid for the politicians of both parties for years.
It doesn't matter which major party you vote for, the national debt will continue to go up, until the country defaults on its' debt. Our economy will continue to suck, regardless on who wins the control. You ask me, why I believe this? I can tell you pretty simply. The Middle Class is soon to be gone.
OK so many companies, have mad a fortune outsourcing our manufacturing base. That was where the largest middle class in history, made enough money to be able to call themselves middle class. The other members of the middle class, the professionals, doctors, lawyers, and small business owners, are really the backbone, of what is left of the middle class. Their numbers will contract, as well, as who can afford their services? Surely not Walmart employees. With out the middle class, and the health insurance that they, or the companies that employed them, could afford. How is a Doctor supposed to be able to afford to run his office? There are a lot of costs, that go into running a medical office, and with less patients, at least paying patients, how can the doctor pay for his staff, equipment, offices, and insurance? Take care of those, who can afford the care, and the cost per patient, is going to skyrocket. So that will cut into the pool of patients even further, as less doctors, will be needed, so there are even less people who can afford their services, which will cut into their patient base even farther, again reducing the need for doctors. The same will hold true, for lawyers, to an extent. Walmart employees, can't afford a Lawyer anyway. But with hard times, comes more property crime. As the guy who works, for Walmart, can't afford to feed house, and clothe his family, out of desperation, will rob a bank, liquor store, or steal from a doctor or lawyer. The more desperate they become, the more violent the crime will be. If caught, they will need a lawyer, but a public defender will be appointed, because the criminal can't afford their rates, and the government is going to have to supply them one. Now everybody knows, that public defenders don't make as much money, as a Wall Street Lawyer, or a Lawyer, whose bread and butter, is serving the middle class, in civil court. Sorry Pacman, but you know it is true. So with an increased need for public defenders, and a large decrease in the number of middle class clients, available to afford the other lawyers fees. There will be a lot of unemployed Lawyers, or a lot of underpaid lawyers working in the public defenders office, and a very few Wall Street Lawyers, who will make bank, but there will not be enough demand for many, which further decreases the demand for lawyers. Which less lawyers sounds like a welcome change, to most of us, unless they are one of the clients that help keep your business i business.
The only growth industries I see, in the next few years, are prisons, and security, as well as those who sell necessities, like food. Maybe the defense industry if the Republicans win control, but even some of them are more fiscally responsible than that. Now that is all well and good, but where do the dollars come from to run prisons? That is right, the taxpayer. Any increase in prison population comes with increase cost to the government, which means the government has to borrow more dollars to run them. Yes even private prisons, must rely on taxes to pay for them, or the government has to borrow the money, and add to the debt.
I am sure that many of you do not realize, that the majority of taxes paid, used to be paid by the middle class. With the shrinking of the middle class, there are less taxes to collect from them. With a shrinking middle class, the taxes that were once paid by them, now must be paid by someone else, or once again, the it is added to the debt. There are only 2 groups left to tax, to make up the shortfall. The Rich, or the poor. You really can’t tax the poor, for obvious reasons. The rich, are the only folks left to tax, well that and corporations. Of course, the rich, and the corporations will not be taxed. They can afford to buy the politicians, and judges, to make sure that doesn’t happen. So we will keep borrowing the money to operate the government, until the country defaults. That is just how I see it.
While most of what I have just written, may be seen, by some to be critical of the Republican party, it is only for one reason. Picking at flaws in the Democrats plans,, while there are plenty, gets plenty of play around here, without me adding to it. I just don’t want to waste my time, preaching to the choir. There is enough of a circle jerk, on the political forum, without another pud puller joining the ranks.

P.S. Howdy Folks. Long time no chat. Sorry to be MIA for so long, but I don't have much time for posting, or reading posts, anymore. I rarely have time to devote to the savoring of a fine cigar much anymore. I really get a shot at one good cigar a week, without my attention being divided between the cigar, and not running over some of the dumbasses that frequent the highways, and make a truckers life interesting. I just had a few minutes to kill, before the girlfriend gets home from work, and I fire up the grill. Hope Ya'll have a great weekend.
