Wife and I went to the eye dr today. Haven't gone since 2012 even though I'm paying for vision/dental...
Bought some new glasses, and tried contacts for the 20th time. I can see clearly to about 16 inches, but I cannot focus under 16" with the corrective lenses on. Dr has been saying since I was 20 years old I need bifocals, but I just buy glasses that are short top-bottom so I can read above or below the lenses. With contacts, I cannot do anything up close, so I only wear them when we're gonna be out on a boat, or swimming, or hiking, or anything that won't require reading or any short range vision.
I was wearing contacts last time I went fishing, had to throw one in the water so I could tie my lures and stuff. Anyway, he suggested using low power in one eye, and full in the other. Tried em on in the office, and it was weird, but functional. Wore em out of the office, but when I hit the road everything beyond 30-40 feet was doubled and blurry. Tried doing one eye or the other, and it was instant headache. Made it home, and once in the house, no vision issues. So, guess contacts are just out for me. Think instead of buying another box of them I'll get some prescription sunglasses.
