This will probably make dpnewell's head spin, but for ME, it was a good, (not great, but good), deal for THIS cigar at THIS price.

Okay, the Xikar Enso is going back to the vendor for a full refund, it's crappy.

Sometimes it opens and closes just fine. Sometimes it doesn't open fully. Sometimes it doesn't open at all.

Sometimes it cuts easily, sometimes it takes a large amount of force to cut. It's random.

Y'know how they say "never buy the first model year of a new car design"? Yeah, same thing here.

If you want this thing, maybe wait a year then buy one. They'll be cheaper by then too.

I bought my XO more than a year after they initially came out. It's perfect in all respects.

Lesson learned! Don't buy newly-released Xikar stuff! Wait awhile.

Both Depot and Lowe's have plenty of N95 and limited P100 masks as well as Lysol wipes, bleach products, etc.
Only caveat is they put one full shelf worth out at 6am and that's it till tomorrow. Limited quantity per person but yeah I'm good to go for a while

I don't see or haven't seen much that's really worth bidding on. Past few weeks or so I've been grabbing up some walking sticks targeting around $2-3 ea. Nothing special, just stuff that I'll smoke when out for a walk or I when decide to walk to work. I don't have a man cave and with winter coming, there won't be much opportunity to spend time outside enjoying something other than budget cigars.

Padilla Fumas Maduro (Churchill) (7.0"x50), Box of 20: willing bid of $29.50.
La Gloria Cubana Serie R Maduro No. 5, Pack of 5: winning bid of $11.50.
Nica Libre Corona, Box of 20: winning bid of $31.00.
Drew Estate MUWAT Kentucky Fire Cured Delfinas, Box of 18: winning bid of $18.64.
Man O' War Puro Authentico Maduro Corona, Pack of 10: winning big of $25.23, qty 2

PA was a nice catch. I never really thought they were very good. Seems that's a dissenting opinion here tho.

If you smoke a PA ROTT, they're w-a-y too peppery and harsh (...well, at least for me...). But, put them down for a good nap and they become pretty good smokes.

I think the Nica Libres benefit from a long rest too and for a $1.50, that's a great price!

Been seeing a lot of Man O' War stuff on auction and free fall. I haven't tried most of them but the PA fit my tastes. Free fall seems to bottom out at around $2.50/ea, auctions about the same if you steer clear of the over bidders.

I try to stay around the corona and robusto sizes. Have no interest in all the huge gauge gargantuan things that has been all the rage for the past handful of years.

Never had the Padilla Fumas before. Used to buy the Padron Fumas for a cheapie way back when but those are long gone. Padilla makes some good stuff so I thought I'd try them. Tossed out a $30 bid (higher than my normal bidding rule of no max bid above 67% CI prices) and it fell through.

I have local orchards around me too, haven't seen any apples at that price much less Honeycrisp. S#!+t, the birth town of Johnny Appleseed is 15 minutes down the road from me in Leominster, MA.

We're totally getting screwed here in MA.

I bought a 5 pack of Neanderthal HN this evening. First cigars I've purchased in a while, several months.

Anybody know if there's anything new with as much strength/flavor as Neanderthal or Todos Las Dias?

I see them at several other places online so not CI exclusive.
Off the top of my head I know the Dunbarton Sobremesa, CAO Flathead Vxxx series and CAO Brazilia are good full bodied and available here.

When I light up my next smoke I'll see if i see any others.

I do quite a few freefall, and watch the high/low (takes about 2 min), then strike near the next low.

For traditional auction, I do better when more lots are available. Bid early on those, set your max bid, and don't waver. You'll win a few.

The list shows "winning" bids until they're outbid.

I'll keep the flathead in mind. I have had the those other two in the past.

Still have a couple Sobremeas in the humidor. They're pretty good but I much prefer the Todos Las Dias.

That small place, with their free shipping, gets most of my business these days. I like being able to try 5ers of boutique brands and not have to add on other smokes just to get the best ROI on shipping.

Yeah, the shipping does mount up. I'm down to a few CBID buys a year and each one is very time consuming and adds up to a hefty total. When I see a good deal on something I want at the small place, its easy to just buy those good ones and it doesn't break the bank.
