Wait, that's offensive to me too.
You were basically arguing it's ok to call natives injuns... not me directly, but because I am a half breed wopasioux, in a round about way you were saying its ok to call me one too.
Ya, you used all the regular arguments on why... pretty sure they were the same arguments white people used for why they should be allowed to call black people.... well, many different racist terms.
It's easy to say that sh*t about natives though, cause usually there isn't one around to say any different.
But you do you man, if you want to be known as a racist, then you're doing great. Keep up the good work.
Don't worry about breaking my snowflake skin though, I just call it as I see it.
Personally I could give a f*ck if you're a racist or not, I just like ruffling your feathers.
So go ahead and tell me how soft I am again, cause I know that's the only argument you got.
A. I am part native American. My great grandfather was 1/4 Wompanoag, so it's just a tiny sliver. But I always have an urge to take back what I give. So there's that.
B. I live in Mashpee Massachusetts. Home of the Womanoag. People of the first light. My neighborhood borders the reservation. No, I don't claim to be part of the tribe. But I've been a strong and vocal supporter of their rights since moving to town 20 years ago.
(side note: although the annual pow wow was covid-cancelled, we heard the drum beats all weekend from our house).
I didn't know I had any real Native blood until fairly recently. My great grandfather's stories were always vague. And he may not even have been a full 1/4. My older brother is doing the ancestry thingy.
I've never been called an Indian slur. I don't look the part.
But I've heard the dumb Italian jokes and responded to the person directly. Not to society. And my favorite book for a long time was an Italian joke book. Actually half Italian and half Polish. The book, not me. that would be painful.
It's cute how you assume a simple name calling makes a person racist.
When you call someone a mother f'er do you really think they fuq their mother?
When you tell someone to fuq themselves, do you think they will if they're capable?
It's a name. They're used in anger and in jest. It can be a verbal punch or a term of perverse endearment.
The fact that you CHOOSE to assign a singular reason is more a reflection of yourself. Which is fine. You know you better than I do.
And I like my feathers ruffled.
No, not my headdress. That would be disrespectful.
