Upon release, Led Zeppelin II sold well and was the band's first album to reach number one in the UK and the US. In 1970, art director David Juniper was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Recording Package for the album. On 15 November 1999, it was certified 12× Platinum by the RIAA for sales in excess of 12 million copies. Since its release, writers and music critics have regularly cited it in polls of the greatest and most influential rock albums.

Van Halen II is the second album by American hard rock band Van Halen, released in 1979. It peaked at #6 on the Billboard charts and spawned the singles "Dance the Night Away" and "Beautiful Girls". To date, it has sold over five million copies in the U.S. Critical reaction to the album has been positive as well, with the The Rolling Stone Album Guide praising the feel-good, party atmosphere of the songs.

A fight over classic rock, c'mon. Quit searching out new, and better, holding on to the good old high school days, you'll miss the world going by. Many bands today are much better than van halen and led zeppelin ever were.

Van Valen II was a decent album. Enjoyed it many many times while mellowing out. Led Zepplin II IMHO was the better of the two though. That being said, I would rather listen to Pink Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon, which by the way outsold both at over 50 million copies.
