Wasn't a decision taken lightly.

5klbs towing and 1700 payload. Payload is higher than the f150 I was considering.

Not great but plenty for my current situation. It's enough to put my flatbed on there and get a yard of dirt, or tow wife's car on my trailer, plenty campers sub 5k.

If you can get past the not a truck thing it's a great truck ish.

Just got done debadging it. Goes to the window tint guy on Monday. Aftermarket speakers and amplifiers/signal processors and stuff need to happen soon too. Sounds like crap over half volume and still isn't very loud.

Hondas last forever with few problems.

Did you buy it from a Honda dealer and get the extended Honda warranty?

Your experience is NORMAL.
Your expectations of insurance companies at this point in the claim is UNREALISTIC.
Want some help?

I either disagree or have been lucky to hit a lull in the appraiser schedule. Hit a deer once. Damage assessed and car repaired and returned within 2 weeks. Same car totaled a few years later, and had a check heading my way in about 5 days.

You're not alone. I'm not a big beer drinker, I have had a can/bottle or two of regular Budweiser it was better than the Lone Star beer that was popular back then, but I also thought Shiner beer was better so so much for my taste.

If I like something I really do not care how it is advertised, but I kinda of thought Bud Light was sort of blue a collar drink, but what do I know. I do not care for propaganda, no matter the form or rational.

After test driving a few used cars my son settled on a Toyota Yaris. One previous owner, no accidents or outstanding recalls per CarFax and Experian Auto Check. Nothing special of a car, it's a small 4 door sedan commuter car.

The car dude is easy to work with, not a stereotypical slimy used car guy. His prices are fair and inline with Kelly Blue Book. Since I'm paying cash I tossed out a low ball number in jest. We met half way between my offer and his sticker price. Fair deal.

Plopped down a deposit to hold it, have the bill of sale in hand and copy of the title. Need to call the insurance company on Monday to get an insurance binder and then they (car sales dude) will to the leg work to get it registered and stuff. Prolly drive it off the lot next weekend.

Snappy little car. It ain't gonna win the Indy 500 but it will serve his needs. Prolly swap out the basic radio/CD player that it has with an aftermarket one with bluetooth and GPS for easier hands-free driving.

Yeah, reported gas mileage from some user reviews are in the range of 35-40 MPG highway. The ground clearance on the Yaris is about the same as his previous Ford Fusion and most cars in this category - about 6".

As for snow, we'll put some snow tires on it for the winter. Snow tires make a huge difference versus the so called all season tires. In MA it's legal to do studded tires or chains during the winter months but that's a little extreme for a little car. I had a little Ford Focus hatchback as a commuter car for a few years (liked it so much I bought another when the previous one was set to retire). With snow tires on it, it was like a little tank plowing through heavy snow. Was slow going in deep snow (say 8" deep and literately plowing through it) but it chugged along just fine.

Had two Hyndai Elantras and a Hyndai Sonata for commuter cars before the Fords. Prolly put 200k on each one before I traded them in. Didn't get much on trade in due to high miles. I blew up the engine on one of the Elantras when the timing belt broke. That's on me for not changing the belt when suggested for routine maintenance. Other than that they were reliable and dependable cars. Only had to do routine maintence of oil changes and brakes. I think I replaced some wheel bearings on one of them but its an easy job if you have access to a garage and the right tools.

This is the way to do business. Live modestly, save for a house and invest. When you have the house and your income is commensurate with a fancy car... indulge a little.

I drove a geo metro when that was all I could afford. When I bought my house I had a '95 Nissan pickup (reg cab) and the wife had a '93 geo storm. We bought our house in 2000.

Learned to drive manual on dad's 85ish Nissan pickup. Reg cab. No power anything. No radio. Unrelated to your point, but got my first speeding ticket in that truck too.

Have an opportunity to be a bad guy in one of those sumo-suits and get taken down by police dogs at an upcoming K9 police contest.

There must be something wrong with me, because I'm considering it.
