228,000

The number of jobs the U.S. added last month, the Labor Department said. The March tally was well above the 140,000 jobs economists polled by WSJ had expected to see. It’s a sign that the labor market remained strong despite economic uncertainty, government layoffs and market turbulence.

If they had another lockout / strike, I probably wouldn’t GAF and unless there were major changes (…shorter season, hard salary cap, minimum salary spending by each team, etc….), I might not watch any games until the World Series.

I don't watch (except if Its World Series happen to go to a live game- which I have enjoyed since a kid)
Just found the spending difference to be notable.

Take me out to the ball game,
Take me out with the crowd;
Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jack,
I don’t care if I never get back.
Let me root, root, root for the home team,
If they don’t win, it’s a shame.
For it’s one, two, three strikes, you’re out,
At the old ball game.

Piece of trivia from The Godfather.

Luca Brasi's Nervousness: Lenny Montana, who played Luca Brasi, was so nervous about working with Marlon Brando that he flubbed his lines in the first take, but Coppola liked the genuine nervousness and used it in the final cut.

On this day date in 1862, the Battle of Shiloh in Tennessee began to rage.

Both Union & Confederate losses we about equal, although it is considered a Union victory.

Over 23,000 people killed, wounded, missing and captured.

It would pale in comparison to Gettysburg 15 months later.

Not Knowlege Recently Acquired. Was just reminded of it today.

The increase in payment rates for Medicare insurers next year, generating more than $25 billion in additional revenue for the industry. The higher rate will likely lead to a rally in the shares of big Medicare insurers such as UnitedHealth Group, Humana and Aetna parent CVS Health. The increase reflects rising medical costs, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services said.

Add all the soldiers and civilians killed during the warfare, 625,000 people. Some estimates are as large as 650,000. At that time, 2% of the population.

Sadly, it's not too hard to understand. It was a war that was Americans vs Americans and practically every casualty was an American.
