Trying to be the optimist here... I know there are issues with mail going through to Hotmail lately. Our ISP cannot get any mail to go through to Hotmail for the last few weeks. Perhaps the same with your ISP?

Not excusing the bad behaviour of him, but perhaps he isn't getting your mail?

That may be true, but on 3/15, he did say he was going to get something out to me...

I think over 2-1/2 months is long enough to wait...

Sorry to hear your bad luck too Greg.
You and Fred don't deserve to be treated this way by the same guy/chump. Maybe Doug will read these posts and he might come through to clean up his name. Until then, he definately has a black star by his name. Hopefully no one else here on CBid gets taken by this guy.

I consider myself a newbie to the trade section of these boards. I have consumated 2-3 trades and am part of a B-Day club (I was late with two sends in the B-Day club because of a death in the family). In all cases I have always received more than expected and most of the time more than I could reciprocate with. The generosity of the trading brethren here is overwhelming.

Since I have always received so much from the generous brothers on the board, I would like for you LOWMAN and TURNBERRY to send me your snailer's at my below email address so that I can help repay the generosity of all of the trading brothers by sending a little package your way. Hopefully I can help make up a little bit for your trade misfortune's and provide a little pay back of my own for the the generosity of others towards me.

uncleb........nobody should feel like they need to make up for our bad trade, speaking for me at least. The loss wasn't bad it is more the principle of the thing and wanting to make sure somebody else doesn't get burned.

Now if you want to do a fair trade sometime well I am always up for that! Let me know (t-berry at comcast dot net)

Turnberry's e-mail addy is as good as gold. He is easily one of the most stand-up guys I have ever met. I am very lucky that I get to herf with him, and pick his brain on cigars and related.

Same with Lowman....damn nice guy, that I wish I could herf with.


My point is......these are the guys that should never get screwed out of the "fun of trading".

I can't believe the generosity around here gets a backhand every once in a while, and that really pisses me off. It should now be a rule that the person who has less trades and positive feedback, always sends their end first.


Sorry for my rant, it just sucks that 2 of the absolute best CBid has....got screwed. Grrrrrr!

As a newbie, I did my 1st and so far only trade with chipslave. He asked me to send my end out 1st. It made sense to me cause he hadn`t known me before then.

That is what everyone should do to avoid this problem. Even if the other party is offended, so what, if they are as honest as you, they will be ok with it.

Thanks for the offer uncleb, but it is not necessary. The 20 cigars that I sent to Doug, won't be missed. Like Turnberry said, it's the principle of the thing. I guess I should have had him send his end first, but I guess I am too trusting... Lesson Learned !!

I guess i am just to trusting. sent my end of the noob trade X out first. But I think i can trust Nacona. He did a trade with Buddha Daddy also and Buddha said he was good people. i will be sure to let people know about him on the X thread.

Well, call me an optimist... but I always send my end first... and I do it knowing that I have a risk of getting burned. The thing is... I do it for the fun and the joy of the giving. If the other end of the trade comes back... great.

I'm very fortunate in not yet being burned by anyone. If I do get burned, I'll post a thread... just like this one to let everyone know that we have undesirables on the board.
