Fred,

Karma - what comes around goes around. He will get his one way or another. I hate to hear this being new here and the welcome I have so graciously received, but I am a strong believer in karma and the golden rule. We don't always know how it happens, but things always come back to equal in the end.

Boy, I'd hate to think ken9810 was right.

420 = pothead.

It pains me to think what he may be doing to those cigars. (shudder!) Freaking that quality tobacco out for some wacky-tobaccy.

I don't believe that things equal out in the end.

I do believe that with any noob you receive prior to sending. I have traded with a lot of the noobs and have never had a problem. They should be eager to prove themselves and willing to send first. I know I did.

Fred... I'm with Castle on this one...
Doug420 will probably choke on a cigar someday and end up in the hospital. You, on the other hand will end up in Herf heaven smoking super premium ISOMs with saints. What comes around..

You do us a service by notifying us about Doug420 in this form. Sincere thanks on that. His ass is totally chewed now!!!

You hate to call foul on somebody but I would feel worse I think if somebody else got burned who could have had a heads up.

PT,

No disrespect, but you shipped me a package on my word that I would send one back and I am maybe 4-5 trades in on this board. I would consider that new. Don't get me wrong, I do appreciate it.

sorry to see this happen to fred. this guy sent me a couple of (really nice) cigars out of the blue just because he felt bad that i missed out on the original trade he posted. truly an amazing BOTL. i will never forget that, fred.

on trades, i really appreciate the guys who have sent theirs out to me first. that was very cool of them to do so. however, when i was new i did not mind a BIT sending my end out first. and i still don't.

on my newbie trade, deadeyedick blew me away completely. he declared our trade complete and a good one, and i thank him for all he did. but as far as i'm concerned, i'm still owe him because that was just amazingly over the top.

anyway, i don't think that there is ANYTHING wrong with asking a newbie to send out his end of things first. that these veterans are willing to trade with new folks at all is saying a lot. that they do so often giving WAY more than they get says even more.

Cavallo,

When I started here my understanding was that my end goes out and is received by the established trader before my package coming goes in the mail. I have no idea where that came from now that I think about it, but that is how it should be.

Cheers,

The standing rule, respected by just about everybody on all the active boards, is that someone with no established trader history sends his end first and the opposite side is forwarded once released. Normally I would have done that but was getting busy and decided to go ahead and get it out of the way on a day I had a couple of other packages to go to the PO. Nobody to blame but myself but just wanted to make sure no one else got burned.

castlewa,

I have seen you on this post on this board a few times, and I felt It was a safe move. I trust my instincts, and they told me your one to be trusted.

No disrespect... 🙂

And don't think that veterans can't be pups in a hurry. There are alot of us us cbid "Veteran traders" that are considered pups on other boards and haven't earned trust yet. I consider it part of the cost of persuing the hobie I love. (sorry for the spelling but the beer is kicking in)

Here is an email I sent Doug today:

Hey Doug,

Could I assume that I'm not getting any cigars from you ?? Or is there still hope??

I went out of my way and sent you a REALLY nice package(which you got on 2/27) to Welcome you to C-Bid. Also the purpose of the newbie trade was so someone new to the board can establish themselves and start to get good comments on being a good person to trade with.
Your last email to me was on 3/15 and you said that you were getting the cigars out the next day. I know that you have done successful trades with hdking and BuddahDaddy. What's the problem with our trade. If you are having problems or are very busy, please let me know but by not hearing from you, I feel as if I am being stiffed... am I ??

Waiting to hear from you,

Greg

Fred/Greg,

Sorry to hear about the bad trade. Can you please post Doug's full name so that no one else gets taken by this schlock?
