This is off the album he was giving away with every purchase at his Third Man Studio shops. The "Willy Wonka of Rock N Rolla" handed out a Gold Ticket! The entire album is awesome! Well, ANY Jack White material is...=d>

I spent a good part of yesterday sorting through a bunch of burned CDs that weren’t “finished”. By that I mean, jacketed blank discs but nothing written on them, just a Post-it or piece of paper with very basic info. So ended up doing a little bit of research, writing on the disc the artist, venue, date, any sort of title, etc., as well as printing up songlists. Made a small dent in the stack but man, I sure burned a buncha discs back-in-the-day.

Jimi Hendrix - Voodoo Chile sessions, May 2-3, 1968

One of my “unfinished” CDs. The slow, meandering blues is perfect for just sitting back with a cigar and letting the day unroll.

Pat Metheny Group - Letter from Home

Metheny has always been a jazz-fusion favorite of mine but I drifted away from the genre over the years. Although I would intermittently put on a Metheny disc, I never made it a point to regularly listen to him until a sudden rebirth a couple months ago. Been borrowing his stuff from the library and ripping to my computer. Hopefully I’ll be able to dig out my jazz CDs from storage and rip those albums too. Really nice to put him on while out in the garage with a cigar.

Tony Bennett - MTV Unplugged

First time listening to this. While I've appreciated Tony through the years...hey, who doesn't love "I Left My Heart in San Francisco"?...I've never really been a fan. At least not until lately. Kinda weird that only now I'm beginning to listen to some iconic performers.

never could get enough of his Last Train Home song. He used voices as if they were instruments on it, or so it seemed to me.
