The minute they start to tax my internet purchases I will start buying from overseas again. The World Wide Web should not be under any GOVT control. Small business my ass It all boils down to business's that want to price gauge the American people. There should be no dictation on where I buy my goods. Why should I pay more for something when I can get it for what it really is worth.

It doesn't dictate where you buy your goods...you just don't get a "get out of tax free" card when you buy online is all. The internet is getting to be big business and it is starting to hurt B&Ms...pure and simple. Not to mention the tax revenues that they generate.

B&M's should have E-Commerce sites then to offset. Government should not dictate tax on goods I buy from out of state when they can't dictate what I pay from another country.

The redistribution idea isn't Marxist...

Luke 12:49 And to whomsoever much is given, of him shall much be required: and to whom they commit much, of him will they ask the more.

Those are Jesus' words...

Brew, I misjudged you. I thought you were merely liberal. I hadn't realized you were Marxist. I cannot stomach the redistribution arguments based on needs and abilities.

I don't know that I "have a side"...I just enjoy the dialogue...but Marx wasn't the first to float the idea. In fact, many of the prophets of God berated the Jewish people for neglecting the poor and perverting justice so the concept goes back even further to the time just after King Solomon.

So anyway, my first post said that I thought that there were merits to both arguments...whether you believe that is up to you...

No, I don't think so. It seems spot on to me.

However, even if you think is out of context, cherry picking the Bible is typical, and often it's common use. He would simply be using it further what he knows is right. And that is how it's done . . . .

Jesus transcended politics...whenever he was pulled into a political dialogue his answers tended to be of the NEITHER or BOTH variety. For example, when asked whether Jews should pay taxes...Jesus merely responded with the immortal words "Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's and unto God that which is God's." In short, it was a YES/AND then some answer...they should pay the taxes and then give their lives (and everything else for that matter) to God.

So the real question here is To whom will we be giving our money???

It is Luke 12:48 and you selectively edited to try to make it appear to be about redistribution. You are a looter of others minds and wealth and a net drain on the economy and society as a whole.
